Went too Early

I believe we camped there too early in the season to fully enjoy the grounds. The pool, splash pad, and nearly everything else was non operational or locked up still. Bocce ball set was pad locked, no one working the rec hall for horse shoes, shuffle board was in op. Didn't see a place for renting boats for the pond. With that said, the location is great. We drove about 10 min to some awesome trails which literally crossed the Connecticut and Rhode Island border. Back to the grounds.. again, probably because it is off season but the grounds seemed cluttered from the seasonal campers. Construction debris was evident as they are building a new welcome center currently. There was debris from seasonals as well which have the appearance of cluttered. The spots seemed a little close too. I'm rating 4 stars for the potential of the grounds if we were there at the right time otherwise I would rate 2.5 to 3 stars based on our trip alone. I believe that an in-season visit would be really nice as long as all amenities were available.

Thank you for choosing to stay with our campground! Our deepest apologies as our campground took a significant amount of damage from an unexpected storm just before we opened on April 15th- our campground office was damaged from a large tree falling through the center and there was significant damage throughout our grounds from fallen trees, branches, and this damage did impact nearly all areas of our grounds as well as our on-site infrastructure for power lines and other utilities.

We do keep our phone lines open all year long with remote staff available to help answer any questions in addition to having online booking. Please do not hesitate to reach out anytime, either myself or an on-site team member will gladly assist with any need no matter how big or small- we're here to do all we can to best accommodate your needs. Our number is 401-539-7011

I would have loved to have the opportunity to have offered a different site for your stay as the J section is best intended for large units without low hanging branches obstructing or hitting roofs in an open air, full sun area of our park. Looking back to your check in date on April 17th- we had several lovely sites to offer in our F and G areas, where sites are 40-50 feet in width, full hook up, and have ample, lush shade cover. Our J section is the only open air area we offer within the 50 acres of towering pines we are best known for.

Our canoes and paddle boats are free to all guests, no need to make a deposit or whatnot. Under our Amenities tab on our website, http://whisperingpinescamping.com/amenities we provide the times for access to boating, recreation hall, and arcade hours and the timeline for when all other on-site attractions open. Memorial weekend kicks off the opening of our splash pad, pool, snack bar, competitive outdoor games, kids entertainment, crafts, and live entertainment.

All on-site amenities are complimentary, with one exception being a your mini golf ball and club- there is a nominal fee for those 2 items. Once our office reopens- hopefully, within another week or so, we'll have new offerings for food, snacks, and other camping novelties. Perhaps, we'll have another opportunity to welcome you back and provide a stay more within what you would like to experience!

PERFECT CAMPGROUND FOR MY FAMILY

glad we found this place on here. wasn't sure what to expect, but this campground has been around a really long time- so it doesn't feel like a KOA or Jellystone. But it has a splash pad and pool, rec hall, a cute little store with fun things for the kids, and good humor bars- which we loved since the snack bar was only open on weekends. There are pine trees everywhere in the park, so the owners don't cut down a lot of trees which makes it feel like a real campground and not a field of peoples RV;s. GOing to try to get back in 2023 because we found out there are weekends that the camp has special things for the kids to do and dj nights, which would be a lot of fun.

Nice campground

Our site we picked back in January was GREAT! Caters more to the seasonal campers than transients but still a good experience. The kids got to enjoy a brand new splash pad which was great and a small train ride around the park. Pretty tight turns and big hills for towing your trailer through but it fits.
