Beautiful River View

We stayed at a Susquehanna river view site with full hookups for 2 nights. Site was level and shaded, but very close to neighbors. Most sites were occupied by permanent or seasonal residents. Bathrooms and grounds were very clean. Rates are reasonable for what you get, and they offer discounts. We…

Quiet wide sites!

Been coming for years. There are some great, quiet and wide sites! Bathrooms could use some updating but still very usable! Beautiful area to explore

Great Campground

Wonderful place to camp and great lake for the boat. Boat rentals are available at the Marina, highly recommend making reservation ahead of time. They have platoon and fishinf boats. Camp sites are nice for RVs.. Make sure to check out Lincoln Caverns!

Pros; great lake, lots to do there, sites…

Medix 5

This is a free site with no amenities but in a beautiful area. You need to contact the forestry district for availability and to reserve. Nice sit with fire pit, picnic table, and short walk to a beautiful creek so no need to bring water if you can filter it. Only 5-10 minutes away from Benezette…

Medix 3&4

Primitive sites with picnic tables and fire pits for a group. You need to contact the forestry district for availability and reservations but they are free. You will want to reserve them together or else you are going to get to know your neighbors really well. Room for multiple cars and lots of…

Buttonwood Campground

Very nice family owned and operated campground. On the banks of the Juniata River, excellent kayaking or tubing opportunities. The campground is beautifully landscaped, level stone sites and recently remodeled bathrooms.

Beautiful and quiet

Clean campground. Quiet. Some hiking. Lake nearby but weather didn’t permit the use of the lake.

Quiet & peaceful

Very nice campground. We’ve stayed in 2 different spots. Super quiet and relaxing place. Clean bathrooms. Why 4 star? State campgrounds are notorious for supplying wood bundles for too much money and the wood is not dry.

Worth further exploration

We ended up here on the way from the NJ high point to the PA high point, but this is a neat park. Great trees on the approach drive, decent campground (with some odd terrain parking-wise) and clean showers. Looks like a ton of trails and skiing in the winter. Not sure our travels will bring us…

Horrible

We had a terrible experience here. We were at tent site #29 but for only an hour...the "water hookup" was BROWN. The bathroom has no lights or sink... Our 16x16 tent didn't fit the "17x17" tent pad. We had bug spray on and had two ThermaCELLs running and we're literally eaten alive by mosquitoes.…

Campground mediocre, area nice

The campground is fine. Basic amenities and pretty small. But it has everything you need. The area is gorgeous and there are a ton of trails to check out.

Very secluded quiet spot

Nice little spot with no one around. Maybe 2-3 cars passed on the SF road each day. Primitive camping with picnic table and fire ring - that’s it. Have to carry your gear from your car a little ways. Very close to the MST. Only complaint was that there was a beautiful creek behind it with no trail.…

The camping is great! There are showers, RV hook ups, beautiful views and close to Cougar Bob's which is the best place for pizza!
