Good family campsite

You'd have to be really careful when choosing a campsite because of the size of tent pads, etc. A newbie to camping may overlook that important detail and arrive to a site with barely space for tent, closeness of tent to firepit, etc.

The campground is pretty popular in the Coast so during peak seasons, it will get crowded.

The bathrooms are great and clean - showers are free and open all night. There is a toilet in the bathroom so it was great for families who … multi-task (shower a kid while emptying bladders separately).

Our boys, aged 8 and 6, enjoyed the playground within the campground. The roads are paved so they were able to ride their bikes around the connected loops.

Bring a tent broom because there are pine trees everywhere! You may need to sweep before and after setting up your tent.

We tent-camped and drove an SUV.

best camping on the coast

Located in Florence, Oregon, this campground is perfect for anyone who is looking for coastal camping, dune hiking, boating, crabbing, or to ride atvs. The best time of year is August, but do prepare yourself and your family for a bit of a crowd. A nice little dune lagoon, lake cleawox sits at the entrance of the park campground and is a great place to relax during the day.

Be sure to rent a few sandboards as well but do be careful if you are going to sandboard down the big handyman dune. Not only can falling off sting just a bit, but people are notorious for atving where they shouldn't despite signs

One of my favs!!

Huge campground with really spacious sites. It gets very busy in the summer so make sure you book in advance. Good showers and bathrooms but there is a TON of ATV noise.

This is the perfect campground

Its the perfect spot on the oregon coast for camping. They have showers, restrooms, playground, the day use area has a great swimming area. Place to rent paddle boards and boats. Great fishing. Plus your close to town. Beaches dunes restaurants and shopping . Go explore and have fun

Great amenities... maybe too many

A great choice if you’re looking for an established campground with all the amenities (flush toilets, running water, showers). Also good if you’re looking for an inexpensive place to stay while visiting the coast. However, if you are looking for the “authentic camping experience”, this is not it. Everything is paved, sites tend to be close together and it can be noisy.

Family-friendly, hike to the dunes

WONDERFUL clean showers; a little tight with neighbors but well-designed to make you feel a bit farther away; garbage only at entrance; wood available for purchase

Great sites! Clean restrooms. Nice playground. Friendly staff.

There’s plenty to do even if you don’t have ATV’s

Our Favorite State Park in Florence

This is our Go To Oregon State Park as we are within an hours drive.

Staff is friendly every visit and the visitor center is great with a lot of fun activities for kids. Don't forget to take advantage of the State Parks Junior Ranger Program and learn some fun facts about the park!

We love this campground and its ease of availability year round.

Highly recommend this park!

Family fun campground.

This is the best kid camp we have found. Bike riding, shallow swim area, sand dunes to ride down, fishing, hiking trails. plus the beach is a short drive away. we love all of the trees in the area too.

Best place to camp in Oregon

Very clean, great year round. Its chilly because its on the coast but fun to take the sand toys as the dunes are right next to this campground .
