## Overview

 Hebo Lake Campground is ideal for those wanting a secluded, quiet camping getaway in the forest. Located on Mt. Hebo, this small, family campground has 12 campsites, a historic picnic shelter, a three-acre lake, and access to hiking trails. All 12 campsites are reservable from May through September. The picnic shelter can also be reserved for day-use activities, for groups of up to 25 people. 
## Recreation

 A historic picnic shelter built by the Civil Conservation Corps in 1937, and restored in 2016, is available for day use at the Hebo Lake Day Use site. The 1/2 mile Hebo Lake Loop Trail is a pleasant hike around the lake, and access to the Pioneer - Indian Trail is nearby. Anglers will find five accessible fishing docks around the popular three-acre lake, which is stocked with rainbow trout.
## Facilities

 Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Vault toilets are provided but there is no drinking water.
## Natural Features

 At an elevation of 1,650 feet, the surrounding forest of western hemlock, Douglas fir, and red alder make the area quite enjoyable on a hot summer day.

Hebo Lake Campground

My absolute favorite place to camp in Oregon!!!! Always clean, quite, peaceful, and just perfect!!!! The fishing is always great and when the onshore flow comes over the trees, it's nothing short of a miracle and magic.

I only stayed for a night, but it was a quiet and peaceful one. I awoke to golden, mossy trees and the smell of pine (or cedar?). The lake is quite pretty. But the trees and smell of damp earth are what did it for me. Camp host was friendly as well. What more can you ask for!

feels like a hidden gem

I pulled in on a Wednesday to find plenty of open spots. It’s a gorgeous area with plenty to do if you like to hike/explore. 

The lake is small - just a hair larger than a pond. At night, frogs will serenade you as the moon peeks through the trees. 

By Friday morning, all spots were taken. Show up early!
