Bullards Beach is a large, family-oriented park located at the mouth of the Coquille River, two miles north of Bandon. The campground is nestled among shore pines and protected from strong ocean breezes. Visitors can enjoy strolling on the beach, riding horses, exploring a lighthouse and excellent fishing and crabbing in the river.

Horse Play
Equestrians will enjoy the park's horse camp and access to 11 miles of trails and four miles of beach and dunes. Sites feature double or quadruple corrals. 

Hiking and Biking
A mostly paved path to the beach begins near the campground registration booth. The path weaves for just over a mile through the open, grassy fields and lowland forest to the sandy dunes. Enjoy views of the Coquille River and Bandon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge on the opposite bank.

Explore 4.5 miles of beach at the end of Bullards Beach Road. Bring your mountain bike to ride the hard-packed sand along the edge of the surf, or just enjoy a stroll along the ocean shore.

Bullards Beach State Park Campground

This was the very first place we camped with our year old daughter in 1990 and we were not disappointed to return. Very large and clean sites with generous level parking pad (across from us, we watched a monster RV back in with room to spare. Staff upon arrival was very helpful in recommending a site that would best suit our needs (we were looking for a site with fewer trees and more sun). Restrooms were clean and the hand dryer had WARM air - yeah! We were able to take a 6-mile round trip walk to the Coquille Lighthouse along the beach (you can drive to the day use area for a much shorter walk) and enjoyed lots of interesting driftwood along the beach. Nearby is the small and proud town of Bandon. Good bakery and cute shops.

Great state park on the southern Oregon coast

This is another state park we camped at. It is near the town of Bandon, which is a sweet little town that is not too touristy. Clean showers and restrooms, nice shaded campsites, trails for hiking and biking. Ranger led programs for children. 

Nice place to be

If you like to walk there is lots of trails and the trek through the old growth to the beach is a worthy hike. Just down the road is a lovely old lighthouse -- Coquille River Lighthouse. 

Family & Dog Friendly

Maybe it's because of the Tsunami's or something but all the campgrounds in OR are set back far away from the beach. This one is a pretty good hike away from the campground proper-so much so that few actually head out to it so you have the beach basically to yourself. There's huckleberries on the way and horses around and the bathrooms are basically fine and clean. Not much privacy at the sites as the hedges have been murdered by folks or rangers or kids....The place is your typical OR coast campground--no campsite is near the beach.

Another campground set back far from the sea

Bullard is a must see if you are on the Oregon Coast. The campground is full of overgrown greenery, it has many RV, Tent sites and a couple Yurts. The best part about Bullards State Park is the Beach and the lighthouse. The beach is awesome for beach combing with clam fossils, agates and lots of drift wood. The tide can be a little crazy, so keep an eye out. 

Love this campground

My family & I really enjoyed camping here. We have our travel trailer with us & was able to use full hookups. We stayed in A64 which was a great spot. There was a small tree the kids climbed & it was private. Next time we want to stay in A47 though. That one had a larger opening for the kids to run around yet still private. Overall the campsite was very clean & everyone was real nice. We saw police occasionally drive through which made us feel even more safe. It's a very short drive or a nice walk to the beach. We found a path through B loop that takes you to the beach. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean, quiet, safe

Bullard Bay has 3 loops, it is family friendly and two miles north of Bandon. The campground has a lot of shore pines and they protect it from the strong ocean breezes. It has Camping, fishing, beach combing, great sunsets and a famous Lighthouse. Some of the sites have water and electrical hookups. They also Horse camping and many hiking trails and bike paths. The corals can be used by day use also. The beaches are about 3/4 a mile away from the campgrounds. The path from the campground to the beach was too hard for us to push my wheel chair or the stroller. The easiest beach access is parking at the day use area, opposed to walking from your site. The restrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen at a park and all have plumbing (no outhouses). We loved this park. Loved this camp ground

This campground is not on the beach. There is a beach nearby that would be a long walk or a short bike ride away. The lighthouse is also a nice attraction. Our campsite offered little privacy and was next to the trash compactor and a generator, which made the stay noisy. Despite that, there was plenty of room to set up our tent and spread out, and we enjoyed our stay.

A fine campground

One of the nicer campgrounds south of Florence.

We booked this park as its close to a couple of the Oregon coast's Lighthouses and nearby Bandon Safari Park.

The campsites were spacious and grass! A huge plus when camping with kiddos. The park was super quiet even when full which was great.

The kiddos loved the ranger talks and the weekend bike light parade.

Nice Spot Near Bandon

I camped at Bullard’s Beach State Park on a road trip from Santa Barbara, CA, to Seattle, WA. As a photographer I wanted to photograph some of the coastal Oregon lighthouses, so we chose to camp a night at Bullard’s Beach to see the lighthouse.

The campground is nice with RV and tent sites; each site has a fire ring and a bench table with access to water and clean bathrooms. The campground is not directly on the beach, but is a hike or a short bike ride or car ride away. The road/trail out the the lighthouse is pretty, with small, rolling sand dune bluffs. The shoreline is rocky and wild.

The area has a lot of mosquitos, but that is to be expected. There are some nice-looking yurts availbale to rent if you don't want to battle the bugs and sleep on the ground.

Bullards Beach 

BIG and CLEAN by the sea. 3 miles to a lighthouse, about a mile 1/2 walk to beach, or drive car to parking to get closer access to the sea. Cost $31 a night plus $8 fee RSVP service. A must to call in for RSVP and open year round. North side of Coquille River just north (5 to 7 miles) of Brandon, Oregon. Can get cel service and mobile data service.

Campground with lots of amenities right off the hwy and close to the beach. Trail down to the beach, playground for the kiddos, yurt rentals available. Good facilities. We are tent campers so it wasn't our cup of tea, but great if you have a camper or are looking for a yurt!

Popular campground for RVs & yurts

Close RV hookups and lots of traffic. Close to town. Seperate fenced hike and bike area next to garbage dumpster. Nice lockers where you can store valuables and charge batteries. Yurts!

Crowded and Loud

Great place to camp, go for a walk with whole family. Collect rocks and driftwood. Access to public bathrooms, rv area and dining areas.

Awesome campground. Close to the beach had bike bath all the way to the beach and lighthouse. The campground also held a bike parade around the whole park and different activities each day. 

Close to everything!

Bullards Beach State Park, just north of Bandon, OR, is another massive RV parking lot. And if that is the kind of camping you do, you'll love it. If you tent camp, probably not so much.

  

But...a pod of Orca Whales lives year round in the Bandon Bay which is walkable out of the camp which makes the reality of the park irrelevant. A POD OF ORCAS!

  

There are actually three known pods but two of them migrate for a big part of the year. However, the third has learned that the bay is a great place to feed. The odds aren't always in your favor to see them so close  in the bay (one local told me he hadn't seen them in four years), but sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes you get into a staring contest with a California Grey Seal while sitting near the lighthouse on a melancholy afternoon, and when he or she decided the game is up you turn around and see five of the biggest fins you've ever seen. You may think to yourself, "Wow, those are some big f@#king dolphins!" before you realize what you are seeing.

  

The campground has all the amenities. Hiker/Biker sites have REI sponsored storage boxes with USB charging station. There are hot showers, and a Welcome Yurt with donation based hot coffee and tea until 8pm.

  

Wildlife is abundant. Despite it's location near town there are regular bear sightings. Birds flit about, and some of those birds may be gnats and mosquitos that have just taken steroids. There are also red ants, which considering how sandy the ground is are good to look for before pitching camp.

  

The Hiker/Biker area has shared fire pits and picnic tables, shade cover and no established sites. The main campground area is big, and some loops are literally just fields. Stick to the outside of a loop if you want a tree in your site.

  

The campground is fine. It's fine. It will be fine. And none of that matters because you could see a whale. The opportunity to see a whale takes this from a three star to a 4 star. Plus nearby Bandon has a great coffeeshop, some cool art, and the beginning of the glorious Oregon Coast starts getting even bigger, and even beautiful-er.

\*\*\*Pro-Tip 3: Plan to spend some time wandering the coast on the Bandon side of the bay. That first three miles of coastline is beautiful and has numerous spots to have a picnic lunch.

So...Whales live in the Bay and everything else doesn't matter.

We decided to stay here because you can hike from the campground through the dunes and to the beach. It was a beautiful .75 mile hike to a gorgeous beach. The campground itself was quiet and populated with wild turkeys. We were there off season, so we had no problem finding a site day of. The grounds themselves were clean, but the bathrooms weren’t.

Small sites with plant buffers

On the beautiful southern Oregon coast, just north of Bandon is home to 4.5 miles of beach access, the Coquille river and lighthouse, over 100 campsites. A large campground with lots of variety. It’s been a few years since I camped here, but I enjoyed it very much. Close to abandon Dunes (the amazing golf resort). One year I camped and played golf!

Beautiful Bullards

Stayed 5 nights site A-40 a very nice spot for our 26ft Class C motor home we fit a-ok an had 30am and 15am at the post, the site and utilities are in great shape weather was cool in the 60's and nice cloudy with a touch of rain. cell signal on Verizon was really low speed and mostly useable. But ATT was good with 5-7Mbs with out using our outside anntenna and cell booster,10-20mbs when using it. This place is quiet with lots walking. A loop is the best loop of A-B-C loops for privacy. The walk to beach is about a mile but a fun walk with a great  beach to walk on. We really loved this parK  but Had to use my cell booster and extend my antenna to get good ATT signal. This is a really neat and well run camp. The showers were closed but toilets open for use. All sites are cleaned right after the departure by friendly camp hosts. We recommend highly and will be back.

Love this park

First time camping here.  Plenty of hosts around to help....Because I’m new at this camping thing I had to have help backing in.  Felt that camps were a little crowded but I guess it depended on the spot.  Not much privacy.  Restrooms were open and clean...no showers open.  What makes this park so nice I think is that once out of the campsite area, the day park is beautiful.  Plenty of space to keep to yourself.  Beach was a mile away...a person could either walk on paved paths or drive.  Because this is on the coast it was windy and cool.  I chose mornings for beach walking.  The day site is along the Coquile River.  There is a National Wildlife Reserve around parts of river so plenty of things to see.

Bullards Beach State Park

The gold standard as far as outlay logic, separating spaces and making them all huge and inviting, and rewarding people for getting up and exploring. I couldn’t believe the openness and intuition. Every time I said something to myself like “I wonder if there’s a put-in place for boats,” it magically appeared. People seem happy to be here and there’s space for those happy loners too. Tons of little trails that tempt and reward the imagination. The campsites themselves are nothing special as far as size, distance from each other and distance from roads - I love little 100 feet winding trails down to more private sites - which is a shame considering the sheer overall acreage here. But there’s also nothing subpar about it either. Get your tent site up, get out to the picnic areas and beach, and tip a beer (or seltzer with frozen fruit) to your neighbors.

They Said “Build a Park...Name Your Price”

My daughter &amp; I stayed one night here on our way home back to Southern California.  It was pretty quiet, close to a town and you can follow a trail to the beach, but at one point it was all under water.  Looks like a super family place. I think people actually get married there.  Very cool.  Saw a few huge turkeys running around.  Flushing toilets and showers.  I think they were free.  Very nice bathrooms!!!  Big and aggressive raccoons.  We really enjoyed it

Quiet & Friendly

Nice campground that’s within walking distance to the beach. Not a lot of private sites but there are a few. Several sights with hookups for trailers and sites are good sized. We were there in early September and the campground was fairly quiet. No campfires because of fire restrictions then but you can use a portable propane powered fire pit. 

Nice campground close to the beach

We just randomly stopped here while traveling down HWY 101 in December. There was hardly anyone there and we parked almost alone, even tho the RV spaces are technically close together. It’s in the trees, there is a walking path. Dog friendly. Well kept grounds, yet the facilities were closed for covid or winter. Overall a nice place.

Good overnight stop on 101

This state park is just north of the quaint town of Bandon. There are a wide variety of campsites, to include yurts. It is very difficult to get reservations for this popular campground (CG). We tried as soon as the reservation window opened and it was already booked. So, we didn’t actually camp here, but did a walk through to check it out for future trips. I’m glad we did because some of the sites that are listed as being able to get into with a 39’ fifth wheel would be a little challenging and you’d have to park your tow vehicle somewhere else. We felt sites 22 and 54 would be the best fit for us. There is a nice path going to the beach or you could also drive the short distance to the beach access parking area. This is a nice park, but we’d probably look somewhere else when in the area. It’s a perfect place for families. 

State Park on the Oregon Coast 

This place was packed. The site had a table and fire pit. Enough flat spot to put my little tent. Most everyone here had RVs and there are Yurts interspersed throughout the campground. Restrooms were large and clean. 

Crowded but cozy

Another great Oregon State Park. Lots of hiking and bike trails. Clean restrooms/ showers. Lots of space in the campsite with shade in the afternoon. Great bike ride to beach and visited light house. Quiet in the evening. No campfires allowed due to wildfire danger. 

Great State Park

This is a great park.  We stayed here for 3 nights on our Oregon Coast trip.  It's clean, quiet, and well maintained.  It's just a short drive into town for anything you forgot.  Lots of beach options and the lighthouse is really cool!

Big Park, Very clean and well maintained

A huge campground, pretty populated and busy, there’s a good 50/50 of RV’s and tents. Seems people come to stay for a week or two. There’s children riding motorcycles in campground, running about, so don’t expect a relaxing camping trip but still well worth the stay. We had the prettiest campground covered in green ivy, ferns, and snapdragons. There were a lot of what looked like gopher holes in the campground and we woke up to about 5 new ones lol. We did leave out a bag of bread that was torn apart and our apples had big bite marks out of them, im assuming raccoons? That was mostly our fault for leaving them out. The space is level for a tent with barley any bugs out for July. The bathrooms were well kept and clean! Looking forward to coming back again for a longer stay. 

Perfect stop in Bandon for camping!

This is a “family campground” so make of this what you will, but it wasn’t my favorite. Sites were very close and situated so people are constantly cutting through on their way to the bathroom, dog walks, bike rides, or whatever. Got to listen to pretty much every word my neighbors said for their entire camping trip.

Everything was nice and well kept, good programming from the rangers, nice camp hosts, but can’t get over the total lack of privacy. Also, the beach was pretty far for a place with beach in the name!

The yurts were pretty fancy looking, and it was thoughtful of them to provide small lights along shady trails - see photos for examples.

Neighborhood feel

Big big area for recreation. Camp sites are nice and always clean. They have yurts for a decent price too. Fishing and crabbing is so much fun off the bank and jetty. 

Always a favorite 

The B spots are pretty awesome. The beach is 0.75 miles from the B campground but it's beautiful and so worth it in the end. Lots of different places to explore. Restaurants not too far. Our favorite was the station one. Great coffee shops. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Highly recommend.

One of my favorites!

We stopped here for a night on our coastal trek and what a treat. We were greeted by a super friendly and informative Ranger who offered the “not to be missed” highlights and met Sheriff Deputy Beck in his rounds thru the campground. He gave the kids stickers and offered glow necklaces for safety. We had a great stopover. I’d highly recommend this beautiful Oregon state park

This park is a delightful place, the sites are well spaced with vegetation between providing privacy. Showers were hot, the park well maintained; a great place for kids, for bikes. A 3 mile round trip walk to the beach is just the ticket after hours on the road.
