About This Campground

Backcountry site, pitch your own tent! If you like to get far away from civilization, where coyotes howl at night and the sky is a bowl of stars falling around you, where you wake to the most glorious sunrises ever seen and the air is scented with sage, then come out to the central Oregon high desert, locally known as "the Outback". With 20 acres of level land around you with a sandy desert floor, you can set up your tent in privacy.include Crack in the Ground, Fort Rock, and Summer Lake ( hot springs). 30 min drive to hiking This site provides a portable toilet and water near the entrance - bring your own tent. Hike in to remote tent sites and choose any spot. Please bring your friendly pets for off-leash fun. Be aware small pets could be a target for coyotes and raptors.
