Foss State Park is located in western Oklahoma on Foss Lake. Recreational activities include hiking, biking, disc golf, horseback riding, fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking and camping. Facilities include RV campsites, 10 of which have full-hookups. All sites offer 30-amp or 50-amp service plus water. RV sites must be reserved online. Big rig sites, shaded sites and 103 tent sites are also available and all can be reserved online. In addition to the tent and RV sites, the park also offers two fully furnished cabins, one of which is ADA compliant, available for reservation online.

Foss State Park Campground

This is a huge camping park, with lots of sites for RV’s with full hookups, partial hookups, and a seperate tent area. The bathhouse was really clean, with pay showers. There is a nice swim beach, great open fields for sport games, a nice playground, frisbee golf course, and supposedly a small herd of bison behind the visitor center that you can watch come in to feed daily (I missed that somehow). I didn’t feel like the RV sites were as on top of each other as they seem in other campgrounds I’ve been to. The tent sites were ok, with some on the lake with no shade, and others tucked in among a tight bunch of trees. All had the usual picnic tables and fire pits. This park is not too far off Hwy 40/Route 66, so it is a nice place to camp if you are travelling Old 66.

We stayed here during our Spring break. Sites are pull through and big enough to fit a 40’ fifth wheel. Electric/ water and sewer hook ups are available ad well as restrooms and showers. 

Foss Lake Campground

Rv sites have great bath houses with toilets, a paved parking lot, and the showers are coin operated.

Tent campers have unpaved roads along with a permanent building for the toilet provided (basically a huge hole under the toilet like a porta potty and no showers). However, every tent site has a water spigot.

We camped in China Berry campground, but had China berries all over everything when we left.

The best swimming area is for day use only, while other areas have trees in the water. The day area also has a permanent porta potty. Interestingly enough, the theme of Sunset beach is tropical!? This is, of course, the photo shown online.

The marina has a restaurant that has decent food and is reasonably priced.

Inverted park 

This rating is for the Cottonwood section of Foss State Park. It was a very disappointing stay. We stayed in the full hookup section of this area. You can literally touch the camper next to you due to the cramped sites. The neighbors sewer hookup ran under our awning. The grass is almost knee high all around here even at the site. This section is not maintained at all. Lots of people partying late nearby as well. The tent camp section was bad as well. Grass so high it was almost 18 inches tall. This section is nowhere near the lake.  I hope the other sections of the campground are better.  AT&amp;T cell service was unusable due to weak signal. Verizon was good. 

Cottonwood Section Dissappointing

We stayed in the cottonwood campground with RVs and tent sites. Our campsite was vet spacious for me the baby and the dogggos. We went camping for my daughters 2nd birthday anencephaly had a blast!  Had a great time at the sandy beach and hiking the trails.

Fun with family and friends

We read a few reviews about distance between campers but we though even if full I would not describe it as a parking lot campground. The sites have green space and trees between them but the lake is superb. We are here on a Monday so there are only 4 other campers. It is peaceful and quiet. The sunset awesome. I would recommend a stay here.

 Beautiful location

We tent camped at Foss State Park in August 2020. We stayed at the Cottonwood campground site #6. All the tent sites were very spacious. There was a picnic table and grill and a water faucet nearby. The sites were nice and grassy and mowed. The bathroom was nice and clean with individual showers, each with their own door. So they were nice and private. Some of the old reviews mention needing quarters for the showers but they are now free. The playground was new and the kids had fun playing on it. The RV spots were a little crowded on the backside of the campground but pretty spread out closer to the entrance. 
We drove through the Sandy Beach campground and it seemed nice and secluded but the picnic tables were a little run down. The playground was really old too. But I think the bathroom was newer. Also, there was no sandy beach in this area. 🧐

The swim beach was nice and sandy. Much better than a lot of Oklahoma lakes. But like most lakes in Oklahoma, the water was super muddy. 

There are two cabins for rent here. They looked pretty new as well. They have a marina and I believe you can rent boats but we never checked it out. 

Overall, I definitely recommend Foss. It was a nice family friendly park to visit. 

Foss State Park 

I don’t know if it’s an Oklahoma thing but the wind was crazy making tent camping a little rough. I’m not used to what’re gnat like bug they have so plan accordingly they are attracted mostly to light but swarm both day and night. I wear a hat with a net so they don’t bother me. We were visited in our sleep by raccoons trying to get in our tent. The bathrooms have 2 shower stalls, one has a curtain and one has a low door so people can see in while you shower. If you need water bring a short hose the water options are wide open or dripping. The spaces are a good size and it is a nice clean place. Cell service is very limited going in and out of no service.

Stayed at Buffalo Bend

It’s not too far for us to get to on a weekend and yet far enough to say we got “away”
The park is well maintained and rangers are very friendly and helpful. There are several areas that cater to your activities. 
Playgrounds, fishing docks etc. 
bathrooms have always been clean. 
Only last year we had a complaint, but it was nature’s fault- a plague of flies! The only time in years we’ve seen that. A trip to nearby Clinton Ace hardware took care of that! Lots of restaurants there as well, if you want a place to eat for a change.

Our Go To Spot

Very nice, clean campground. About 12 pull through sites and a group site for tents. All spots had a level cement pad to park, picnic table and fire ring.  Right on the water. Beautiful view. The campground was fairly empty when we stayed and it was very peaceful and secluded, although if the camp was full it wouldn't be very private. 
Great place to fishing or boat. There is a decent size marina with a restaurant in the park as well. 
There were a lot of bugs but maybe that's just the way OK is in July... Just bring bug spray!

Cedar point campground-Foss state park

Stayed at the Sandy Beach Campground first weekend in August for my birthday.  Enjoyed the spot we had; lots of room. Couple things to mention for improvement. Would like to see the trees maintained a bit better. In our campsite, there was a fallen tree and the standing trees were overgrown and had lots of dead branches.  View of the lake was very obscured.  Secondly, if you're arriving after sundown, it's pitch black and the signage into the Sandy Beach area is not good. We weren't familiar with that area and it took about an hour to find our spot and get settled. Other than that,  it's awesome!

Fabulous Birthday Trip

Where we camped it was walking distance from the lake. The "campsite parentals" were awesome people. Our site didn't have a fire ring, so we had to ask, which was delayed in getting to us due to an accident on the lake, BUT when they did bring it down, the "campsite parentals" and the conservation agent stayed with us and kept our camping site lit with their cart lights to help with us putting up our tents at dark. So friendly and can't wait to visit again.

Awesome time

Had a great time for Memorial weekend. I will say that our neighbors had about 8 dogs between them and never kept them on leashes. Park rangers came around but never said anything. 
The site we stayed at had the hookups on the opposite side.

We had fantastic neighbors and a great view of the lake. 

  

Unfortunately the bathrooms/showers were the worst of our four stops on this journey. They were pretty bad. 

  

Additionally, our shoreline power went out overnight too. Thus, we leaned on the generator to get us through the 100 degree night.

Good one night stay. Access to swimming in the lake from our campsite. Facilities were clean. Check out Slice 183 in New Cordell for good pizza!

Nice lakeside spot

Stayed at Cottonwood campground in early October. Only 2 others here. All other grounds at Foss are equally empty. Clean toilets and showers, clean sites w/ water and power. Coyotes at night. A very pleasant stay.

Nice sites

It was the only not free campsite we camped at on our two week trip with new sites every night. I have no complaints in any way shape or form about the camp so it 100% gets five stars from me. Only complaint is about the website and the map offered on the website. Completely unhelpful and poorly designed. In this time of technology that is accessible to everyone, you NEED to update your forums. But that’s enough from me. This was my second favorite campsite during my trip across nine states and fourteen campsites. And it’s definitely top three of all time. 

Wow wow wow!

This is the equestrian campground and it has 17 miles of trails connected to it. There's both a number of spots for RVs and some beautiful spots down by the lake for tents. And the only one here almost nobody has driven through I can hear the road but pretty much have had the place to myself which has been very nice. The trail is really just a mode grass pack but you can bike on it and you can walk on it and there's some evidence of horses I'm not sure how much use this part of it gets. Bathrooms and showers are great and available I would definitely stop back again if I'm coming through this way.
