    Overview

    Afton Landing is located upstream of Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 on the McClellan-Kerr Navigation System approximately 6 miles west of Wagoner, OK. Visitors can enjoy camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, kayaking or simply enjoying the scenic beauty the area has to offer.

    Recreation

    The Chouteau Lock and Dam 17 project was primarily constructed for the improvement of the Arkansas River and its tributaries for commercial barge traffic; however, it also offers recreation and resource opportunities.________

    Facilities

    This year-around campground has two camping loops offering 19 campsites with electric, 3 non-electric campsites and a popular group day use shelter. Amenities are available throughout the year and include vault toilets, drinking water, dump station, playground, boat ramp and courtesy dock.

    Natural Features

    Afton Landing is located off the main river channel on an oxbow and provides excellent access to the backwaters for fishermen, boaters, and kayaks. The campground is surrounded by mixed hardwood forest and the majority of the campsites are shaded. The sloping high banks offer great water views and access to tie boats at the water's edge.

    Located just west of the city of Wagoner, Afton Landing is within driving distance to several local dining and shopping facilities. It is also within a 10-minute drive to Fort Gibson Lake and several other campgrounds and state parks.

    Tucked away in the hills of eastern Oklahoma, Greenleaf State Park offers spectacular scenery and is a family-friendly state park. The park includes Greenleaf Lake as well as cabins, campgrounds, family recreation facilities and nature hiking trails. The lake cabins and other facilities at Greenleaf State Park were built in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The original buildings, constructed of native stone, remain a lasting and beautiful tribute to those who built them.

    The park has 16 cabins with bathrooms, kitchens with full-size appliances, heat and air. Dishes, cooking utensils, linens and towels are also provided. There are fireplaces in 10 of the cabins. All cabins have satellite television. The cabins are approximately 350 square feet in size. The park also has the "Cabin on the Lake," designed to meet the challenges of the physically disabled. Pets are allowed in all cabins for a small nightly fee. Firewood is available for purchase and firewood is not provided to cabins. A total of 14 cabins will sleep up to four guests, one cabin will sleep two guests and one cabin will sleep up to eight guests between two bedrooms.

    In addition, the park features RV campsites, some with 50 amp electric and full hookups, as well as tent campsites. All RV and tent campsites must be reserved online. Additional amenities include a community building, pavilion, enclosed shelter, outdoor shelter, seasonal marina with grill and heated fishing dock. Be sure to visit the office and pick up a wrist band for the splash pad and 18-hole miniature golf course before enjoying the swim area, amphitheater, discovery center, playgrounds, hiking trails, volleyball courts and basketball courts.

    Motorized personal watercraft is not allowed on Greenleaf Lake. The kids' pond allows children 16 and under to fish at no charge with no permit required. Located in Braggs, the park also offers activities such as wildlife viewing and holiday events.

    Located on beautiful Skiatook Lake in northeast Oklahoma, Tall Chief Cove is one of the most popular campgrounds in the region. The campground has a variety of sites along the forested lakeshore, and visitors can enjoy boating, hiking, swimming, picnicking and fishing from the facility.

    Recreation

    Families enjoy the convenience of this facility's swim beach, picnic areas, nature trail, playground and educational programs. Sport fishing for largemouth bass, black and white crappie, channel catfish and several species of sunfish offers anglers many hours of enjoyment on the lake. About 6,000 acres of public land in the lake area are open to hunters wishing to pursue whitetail, quail, rabbit and squirrel.

    Tall Chief Cove offers 50 individual sites with electric hookups and one group picnic shelter for day use that can host up to 200 people. All guests with reservations can utilize our professional style volley ball court, basketball court, disc golf course, or horseshoe pits. The campground provides covered picnic tables, restrooms and showers.

    Overview

    Blue Bill Point is located on the banks of Flat Rock Bay on tranquil Fort Gibson Lake in northeastern Oklahoma. Blue Bill is a peaceful campground popular with family groups and retirees. The gradual sloping shoreline offers easy access to the water for fishing, swimming and mooring boats. This protected shallow cove is an ideal location for kayaks and canoes.

    Recreation

    The nearly 20,000-acre lake offers excellent boating and swimming opportunities. Anglers enjoy fishing for black bass, white bass, crappie and several varieties of catfish and panfish. The lake's 225 miles of shoreline and thousands of acres of public hunting lands are abundant with wildlife.

    Facilities

    This campground is open year-round and offers 40 family sites and one group day-use picnic shelter, all with electric hookups. Three additional primitive sites without hookups are available. Amenities include flush and pit toilets, drinking water, showers, a dump station, playground, concrete cornhole pitch, 2 boat ramps and courtesy dock.

    Natural Features

    Blue Bill Point is surrounded by a mixed hardwood forest. A small fishing pond is located a short distance outside the campground. Cultivated fields offer an opportunity to view wildlife as they graze or cross these open areas.

    Historic Fort Gibson, established in 1824, served as an important military post on the western frontier for close to 70 years. Now a National Historical Landmark, the site is open to the public year round. Volunteers reenact the lifestyle of the late 1800s during various events held throughout the year. A reconstructed log stockade, and original barracks, hospital, bakehouse and other structures still stand today.
