Mill Creek Recreation Area is an ideal family campground located on Berlin Lake in northeastern Ohio. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing, hunting, picnicking and camping.
The lake is a popular location for boating, swimming, and fishing. Berlin Lake is renowned for its excellent walleye fishing. It is one of the few area lakes where natural reproduction of the species occurs. Anglers will also find largemouth and smallmouth bass, muskie, crappie and bluegill. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources manages over 6,800 acres of project lands for public hunting and wildlife management purposes. Small game species are found in abundance and hunting areas can be easily accessed.
Mill Creek Campground offers 295 sites ranging from wooded water sites to grassy sites in the sun. Over 100 sites have electric hookups. Other amenities include a dump station, showers, flush restrooms, a boat ramp, playgrounds, and a volleyball court.
Berlin Lake is situated on the Mahoning River, where it covers 3,590 acres and offers 70 miles of shoreline. The banks of the lake are gently to moderately sloped, allowing for easy access. Beech and maple trees cover the area, offering shade and beautiful fall color. A variety of wildlife makes its home around the lake. Visitors delight in viewing nesting ospreys. Bald eagles can occasionally be seen in the area as well.
Noah's Lost Ark Animal Sanctuary is just one mile south. The sanctuary is home to a large variety of big and small cats, including lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, bobcats and lynx. Wolves, coyotes, fox, bears, camels, zebras and primates also live in Noah's Lost Ark. Children love the sanctuary's petting zoo and educational tours.

Nestled in Silver Springs Park in the Northeast corner of Stow, it is one of only a few municipally-operated campgrounds in Ohio. The City has been providing outdoor recreational opportunities at this site for over four decades, and the public has really taken advantage of it. They appreciate being able to enjoy the outdoor camping experience so close to home.
Campers have access to many amenities throughout Silver Springs Park while camping, including fishing at Heritage Lake, hiking on the trails in the woods, tot lot fun at SOAR playground, dog exercise at Bow Wow Beach, active recreation at the tennis and basketball courts, and throw-together games and activities in the many open fields. The campground is also adjacent to the Metro Parks’ Bike and Hike Trail. The facility has 27 campsites, some open and some shaded.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a destination for millions of visitors each year who enjoy hiking, riding the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad , biking and picnicking. Whether you need an area large enough for a family reunion or just an intimate spot for two, Cuyahoga Valley is an ideal destination. Picnic areas are scattered throughout the park. Two rustic shelters, Ledges and Octagon, are available for reservation in the Virginia Kendall Unit of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
With many different facilities and attractions in the park, there is something to interest everyone. Most shelter areas have open fields for games and nearby hiking trails.Visitors enjoy riding the scenic railroad, exploring the visitor centers, catching one of the summer concerts, attending one of the ranger-guided programs, biking the Towpath Trail or picnicking in one of the park's picnic shelters.
Cuyahoga Valley's two shelters are fully-accessible. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed them with American chestnut and locally quarried sandstone. The shelters are located near Ritchie Ledges, an area with approximately 2 miles of Sharon conglomerate stone cliffs about 30 feet (9m) tall. A large play field and hiking trails are available near each shelter.Ledges Shelter accommodates up to 75 people. It has two fireplaces and eight picnic tables inside, as well as eight tables in the outside pavilion and a large grill. Octagon Shelter accommodates up to 50 people. During the summer months its walls are removed; they are in place from October 15 to May 14. Seven indoor picnic tables, two fireplaces and an outdoor grill are provided.Both shelters have electricity for normal two-pronged household appliances such as coffee pots and crock pots. Drinking water is available at a drinking fountain from May 1 to September 15. Restrooms with flush toilets are available year-round.
The Cuyahoga River flows through the park for 22 miles (35 km), fed by more than 190 miles (306 km) of perennial (permanent) and ephemeral (temporary) streams. The Beaver Marsh and other wetlands, many lined with cattails and dense patches of duckweed, provide a home for many of the park's reptiles and amphibians and help filter pollutants from the water.
Visit Brandywine Falls, the historic Boston Store Visitor Center, Ritchie Ledges, the Beaver Marsh and the Everett Road Covered Bridge. These are some of the more popular attractions in the park.
Cancellations more that 14 days before arrival will receive a refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 14 days out will forfeit the entire fee. However, the reserving party may be given an opportunity to reschedule the reservation (based on availability) within 12 months of the original reservation by contacting the park.

The scenic Nelson Ledges Quarry Park is a great place to camp, swim, hike, sunbathe, attend music festivals, or just plain hang out. The park is a beautiful landscape made up of 250 acres of forest, meadows, streams, rock ledges, fishing lakes & of course the quarry itself. There are also more than 400 campsites, some deep in the woods, some along the Quarry, & others in secluded meadows. Nelson Ledges is therefore an ideal venue for weekend-long music festivals as well.
The park is a unique & special place that is cherished by many. Over the last 50 years, thousands have claimed that their greatest memories were made at the Quarry. Due to their interactions with friends & the landscape as a whole, the park leads to experiences that can be compared with no other. It's a place where friends come together, friends are made, people fall in love, & the best times are had.
The forest itself consist of a variety of trees, wildflowers, mushrooms and other plant life.
There is also a variety of individual campsites that cater to personal preference. Whether it's on a ledge by the water or deep in the woods, you can camp near the social activity or settle in one of the quiet, isolated areas. We pride ourselves on being a primitive campground to avoid the trailer/RV look of our competitors. Campers and Winnebago's are more than welcome to visit for a few days, but long stays are not encouraged, and there are no water or electrical hookups for campers or RV's. Small, quiet generators are allowed, but the park otherwise accommodates primitive camping only..
Campground Closed for Renovation: The campground on Leslie Road will be completely unavailable during renovations beginning October 20, 2019. NOTE: A one-lane bridge on Echo Dell Road CANNOT accommodate vehicles with trailers or RVs. You must approach the Park Office, Wildlife Education Center, Gaston's Mill, and Pioneer Village from the south if you are traveling in a large vehicle.
