The Uwharrie National Forest includes the Uwharrie Ranger District Office, located at 789 NC Highway 24/27 East, Troy, NC 27371. At the district office you can obtain information about the area, get brouchures, camping information, trail passes, and permits. You can also obtain a Senior pass, Disabled Pass. All of the sites and cabins at Dan Nicholas Park are in the woods. We do not have sewer hookups on sites. Pets are allowed on sites only, not in cabin areas. We have a two night minimum for reservations on the weekends. Payment in full must be made to hold reservations. We do not do refunds, but we will issue rain checks if notified 4 days prior to first reservation date. These will be good for one year.

Norwood Campground is family owned and operated and located within the Uwharrie Mountains. We are open year-round with unlimited access to Lake Tillery (including boat slips), however, the pool is only open Memorial-Labor Day.

Uwharrie Hunt Camp has eight sites for tent camping. Each site has a table, grill, lantern posts, and tent pad. Two vault toilets are provided in the campground. There are also 2 drinking water spigots available. Opportunities for hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, hunting, OHV trail use and picnicking are available within a short drive. Country stores are located in the nearby communities of Uwharrie and Eldorado.
