Small, quiet and relaxed among the pines
Our stay in Site #4 on February 25 in our 20' Mode LT was quiet and restful. The park has an interesting geomorphology, sitting atop cliffs overlooking the river below, and there are miles of hiking trails. The Campground Host was particularly helpful, checking us in when we arrived early. …
Relaxing stay!
First time camping at cliffs of the neuse and it was great. They sell firewood for $7 (cash only at the camp store) and the park staff was friendly. Our spot was shaded by the trees and even had a little path to the bathroom in the brush. We were surprised by two kittens who cautiously watched us…
Nice hiking trails
We really had a good time exploring this park. Very spacious sites that weren't on top of each other.

Directions
Cliffs of the Neuse State Park is located in Wayne County, 11 miles southeast of Goldsboro on NC 111. From I-40 in Raleigh, take exit 309 and head east on US 70 for approximately 50 miles. After driving through Goldsboro, turn onto NC 111 south and travel for about ten miles. Turn left onto Park Entrance Road. From southern North Carolina, take Exit 341 off of I-40 and head east on NC 55 for 30 miles. Turn north onto NC 111 and travel two miles, turning right onto Park Entrance Road.
