Easy to access but very loud
Stayed a few days and everything was what you expect from a KOA. I've stayed in much nicer KOAs but this is still not bad. The interstate was particularly loud, a bridge on the interstate made for some very loud 'ka-booms' when trucks went over.
Nice, but a lot of noise
I stopped to pitch my tent, sleep, and move on. I was there about nine hours. Extremely clean facility. By far the cleanest campground bathroom and showers I have ever seen. Only complaint would be the interstate noise was insane. I woke up constantly to semi trucks using their engine brakes. I ended up leaving around 5:30am because I couldn't sleep.
Nice grounds, private showers, well stocked store
Friendly staff, they grind their own coffee, pretty grounds, very clean bathrooms and private showers. They had lots of activities scheduled for the kids. They drove by in the early evening in a golf cart offering hot chocolate and the money went to Care Camps for Kids. I believe they also have an ice cream cart goes by all the sites. Lots of things to do and close to the sights of Asheville.
Laundry facility was good. Wifi was good but we didn’t hook up our cable that night but I didn’t hear any complaints from other campers. There was a dumpster for trash but you could also leave a bag at the front of your campsite in the morning and they would pick it up.
We only had two issues, neither of which would prevent us from staying again. The space we were in was right next to the on site owner or manager so we had a view of their wooden fence and there was what appeared to be an “abandoned” Class B on the other side of us. I’m sure it wasn’t abandoned but we were there 3 days and we never saw anyone and the widows were blocked up and wooden pallets were stored under the back of the vehicle.
Staff was super helpful, friendly and communicative. They ready did want you to tell them if there was anything you didn’t like. We would highly recommend.
