World class fishing on the Neversink River Perched on a hill above the famous Neversink River, this campsite is a fisherman's dream. Famous as the birthplace of American dry fly fishing, the Neversink is a destination for fishermen from around the world.
The camp sits about 200 feet above the water on a forested hillside with many old growth white pine and oaks. There's a path leading to the water and the remnants of an old dam where there is now an excellent swimming hole and good bass fishing. Further down, you'll find the river, loaded with Brown and Brook Trout. Above the camp on the hill, there's a small orchard and fire pit for bonfires as well as a small creek for gathering water.
The 16-acre property sits next to a 250-acre park which winds along the river for about mile to the nearest town. There's a lovely view from the deck of a mountain across the river, perfect for watching the sunset and the migrating water birds above and below.
There's a MetroNorth/NJ Transit stop just ten minutes away. You can even take a cab!
