Week in Grand Isle State Park

This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful park I have stayed in. The facilities were clean and the shower was nice and hot. The staff are helpful and friendly. Since the park is on a island in Lake Champlain in Vermont there is water all around. Good places to walk and ride.

Great campsite on Lake Champlain

Great tent / RV / cabin site on an island in Lake Champlain. Tent area is a large field with cabins on the rock bluffs and RV row along the road. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Latrine and showers available at the site. Small rocky beach is available for great swimming and…

Very friendly rangers and very clean

We enjoyed ourselves at this campground very much. The sites are spacious although in the area where we stayed the vegetation was pretty sparse between sites. The bathrooms are clean and have showers. We were able to let our dogs swim at the boat ramp which was a definite plus. We also caught some…

Nice little park

The check in process was easy. Given a map with highlighted route to our site. Site was clean and grassy. Very little traffic. Local law enforcement drove through. The sunsets were spectacular.

Great place to unplug

WE love staying at Rollins Pond in a tent! Our family always meet friendly people and falling asleep to loons is priceless! We always have wildlife at our site. This past trip we had chipmunks, squirrels, ducks, and a crane. The time before, we had a family of loons!

Lovely stay 🏕

My husband and I stayed in the lean-to with our two toddlers. It has 3 walls and netting on the fourth. Inside there are two queen sized platforms (we put an air mattress down) and it is right on the river. It’s a beautiful and quiet campground with limited spots that you have to reserve before…

Perfect location and quiet

No noisy neighbors even on a Saturday night. Great cell reception with Verizon; what more do you need. Yes, there is road noise. Trade off for the closeness to ADK trailheads.

Just okay…

Wifi at campsite was inconsistent and unreliable. Had to work from rec center and pool which was ok but not what we were told.

Just Marvelous

Stayed in Balsam leanto. Really shady and the campsites are private enough. They do really enforce those quiet hours. Also the WiFi only really works near the office and is very spotty so I wouldn’t rely on it.

Great Spot for Week or Working and Exploring in Burlington and Grand Isle

Love this state park and it was super quiet during the week. Rained quite a bit, but took advantage of the libraries in North Hero and Worthen on those days.

Also has a boat launch and beach area for swimming or nice sunset views.

Showers are coin-operated, but $0.50 will get you 5 minutes of…

If only they could stop the rain!

We enjoyed everything about Grand Isle and only wish it hadn't rained. Every. Day!

Oh well, our grassy site (#80) was a fine refuge for three nights in a tent. It was level, free of roots and stones and far enough/close enough to the bathroom.

Bring quarters for the showers (and pay it…

Beautiful campground on the lake

This campground is beautiful, and most of the sites are lakefront. Some sites are more spacious than others, but with the lake views, you can't complain. No hookups, so a bit trickier for rv's, but being right on the water makes it worth it. We loved renting canoes/kayaks and exploring the lake. An…

Gorgeous! Perfect place!

This campground is awesome! There plenty of spaces with HUGE sites. There is a beach, fishing dock, pavilion and plenty to do in the area. This is dispersed camping but every site has water nearby. The water is difficult to get as you can’t connect a regular hose. Luckily a neighbor helped us out.…
