## Overview

 Field Tract Campground is located on the banks of the beautiful Pecos River. The campground is 10 miles north of the village of Pecos. Visitors enjoy Field Tract for its family friendly atmosphere, fishing and access to the Santa Fe National Forest.
## Recreation

 Field Tract Campground offers excellent fishing access on the Pecos River. There are nearby picnicking sites with changes in scenery. There are multiple trails found in the canyon as well. 
## Facilities

 This medium sized campground offers tent and RV camping, portable toilets, drinking water, picnic tables and grills. Six of the 15 units have three-sided shelters. Campsites are suitable for trailers up to 22 feet in length. 
## Natural Features

 Situated on the Pecos River, Field Tract Campground provides an inviting forested setting. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains surround the Pecos Canyon and provide magnificent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Bald eagles migrate through the winter, and can be seen soaring throughout the canyon. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Field Tract Campground offers direct access to the Pecos River and there are many terrific fishing opportunities nearby. There are also trailheads providing access to the Pecos Wilderness as well as climbing opportunities within 10 miles.

Field Tract Campground

This is a small but clean and beautiful little camp outside of Santa Fe. Quiet, good hiking, and water to explore. We took a little excursion around the mountains of Santa Fe and found the most delightful little college that feature its own little trail (the Atalya Trail at St John's college. Some students were on the trail and showed us a rather hermetic (as in Hermes) school ground and some fascinating little creatures in their science room. Santa Fe itself was super friendly and lots to explore. ALL of northern New Mexico had terrible cell and wifi service. Practically non existent and it was AWESOME! A total digital detox! Go get it!

A nice camp near Santa fe

Stayed here over the weekend in August a few years ago.  It was beautiful. A good river for fly fishing or spinner fishing.  The road to/from is well maintained as well.  It wasn't too busy when we went, plenty of space.  A couple of RVs were parked around too.  We were the only ones in our area, we let the dog run around and had a good time too.  My nieces enjoyed splashing in the river as well. Overall a good spot.

Great little river and spot for camping

Visited in late July and the temps were not bad in the 80's. Nice little campground with no hook ups. One flush toilet per gender and a couple of pit toilets. Open sites great for tents. Right by the Pecos River with fishing. Saw several people with stringers of nice brown trout. No cell service here. Hiking trails are several miles drive away.
