Primitive camping

We camped here recently .We followed the road to the end of FS 542 .The road is a little washed out once you get to the end of the paved road and make a left . I didn’t make it all the way to the “primitive “ canpsite as my car bottomed out but there was room for a car and a tent at the junction .

Nice RV resort

We normally don't choose RV resorts but as RV resorts go this one is nice. There are large trees in the campground providing shade and a small grassy area between campsites. Level concrete sites with picnic tables at each site. Nice, clean laundry room and bathrooms. Unfortunately, the pool was not…

FS ROAD 542 Dispersed Camping

This was a great campsite! Dispersed and secluded. Between Tijeras and Albuquerque. In the Cibola National Forest. When you turn into Juan Tomas (FS 542) Rd - be sure to go straight down nearly to the very end of the road. You’ll see signs marking campsites (refer to photos). Sites were large with…

Worst RV Park In The Country

Notice that American RV Resort, 13500 Central Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121 was Good Sam Approved.

The night we pulled in our information was not available for our reservation (made it eight months in advance). After speaking with and getting disconnected three times with your 800 number, being…

Relaxing weekend getaway

Came recommended by a friend. Beautiful secluded spot in the Manzanos. Nice kid-friendly trails adjacent to the campground. We had a nice shady site, some others seemed more exposed.

Quiet stay off of I-40

We are full timers and love it here. Staff is always friendly and helpful, and keep everything neat and tidy. New bathrooms down by the office, and quiet life and very peaceful place!

Nice location

This is not the state park campground. This is the NFS campground in beautiful setting. No reservation required. Right next to trailheads. Great Mountain biking on forest roads that link canyons. Toilets but no water so come prepared.

Great Place to Hide Away in the trees

Great place near ruins and plenty of trails to walk dogs. Most of the sites are very private. Quiet. Clean. The Park Ranger and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our first site didn’t work for us so they moved us (of course they had availability) we will definitely come again.

Good for a night

Clean and maintained. Easy access to I40. Highway noise very noticeable, but luckily it doesn’t bother us. Due to covid, pool, playground, bathrooms and continental breakfast closed down. Cable tv is a plus, “high speed” WiFi is not very high speed.

Great place in the woods

Great camp with most hook ups. They don't have sewer but they do have a dump station. Mostly back in spaces so pay attention what side your door is on and opens to. Very nice place. Good water pressure. Great TV reception from Alb, NM TV stations. Lot of radio stations too.

A quaint pull-through park

A well organized park by a helpful staff. The pull-through sites are easily assessable and long enough for an F250 w/30’ travel trailer and not be detached. The park is clean and quaint. *Pet friendly but doesn’t allow “outside pet cages, kennels, or pet fencing” probably because they don’t want…

Nobody to Greet

The campground website said check-in was at 3 pm, so when we arrived they were closed. We had to call the emergency number to get our information and the gate code. It was very impersonal and no discount despite all facilities were closed. Beyond that the place was clean and near enough to…

Run down RV park in the mountains

This place is run down and outdated but I enjoyed my stay. The park is up a little dirt road that takes you into the mountain. There is a small visitor center and pool that wasn't in working use when I was there. Coun laundry. Free hot showers. You will see lots of wildlife here, coyotes, mountain…

Clean and very well maintained.

This evening campground was very clean and well maintained. They had a pool for guest along with a contentinal breakfast. However it was only beagles and cereal but it was included in the cost of camping.
