About

Sunnyside is its own little oasis in the trees! Built among hemlock, birch, and maple trees- this site overlooks the whole camping area. Facing southeast for a glimpse of the sunrise.

About a quarter of a mile stroll through our maple grove to get there, tucked inside a beautiful 5 acre wooded lot. We provide utility wagons for your convenience.

Each site has plenty of space and privacy. There is a clean comfortable outhouse with two private stalls located in the center of the camp. Our beds have a thick comfortable memory foam mattress- we now provide soft flannel sheets and a lightweight comforter. Please bring any additional blankets you may want and lanterns or headlamps.

~Wake to birdsong and fresh air, wander up the road to Evans Notch, famous for hiking, biking, and swimming holes- or keep driving to explore Bethel, Maine! ~Just 3 miles from the Stow Corner Store- serving up 3 meals a day, beer and wine, snacks and ice cream. ~Kezar Lake is a 20 minute drive, as well as Fly Away Farm and the Center Lovell Market. ~North Conway restaurants, shopping, hiking and Storyland are about 30 minutes away!

I am a wedding officiant who is happy to offer elopement services year-round, with advanced notice, as well as an option to rent all 3 of our sites (the whole campground!) for a small wedding or party.

In the WINTER we are SNOWMOBILE or SNOWSHOE access ONLY...the snowmobile corridor is a couple hundred feet from parking. You can sled right out to your tent! Check out more pics and updates and follow our instagram page @butterhillhideaway : )

The Space: Sunny days and starry nights! Retreat to our mountainside haven to unplug and unwind in the woods. Close to Evans Notch- hiking, biking and swimming!

Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Group Camping: We welcome campers with larger parties, but the standard Tentrr setup only includes the canvas tent plus the additional pop-up dome tent. You may need and are encouraged to bring additional camping gear of your own if you plan on camping with a large party.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent.

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

What you should bring: -S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat -A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling -Bedding and pillows -Firewood for the campfire

Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note: OUR PROPERTY PREFERS THAT YOU HAVE AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE TO ACCESS! This is RECOMMENDED no matter what site you are staying at. The road up the mountain is 1/2 mile of abandoned class 6 gravel road that is steep in many places. Our road is part of the adventure! : ) Also...we have 8 chickens and a hive of honeybee's tucked away in our backyard away from the camp. If you are interested in the bees- just ask! Please be respectful of plants, small trees and shrubs- each year we plant native trees to rejuvenate our forest and provide privacy. As our land does border the National Forest- it is a bit of a wild place- and we like it that way! There are moose, deer, coyote, and bears traveling around the area regularly- do not leave any food outside or in your tent overnight. Food must be cleaned up and stored in a cooler. Our property is lined with an old network of stone walls- please do not remove stones or artifacts from them. We also have some walking paths behind the campsites- this is not our property and there is no cell service out here- if you decide to explore make sure you know where you are going and pay attention to your surroundings. Of course, please carry-in, carry-out!
