Hampton Beach State Park Campground

Extremely crowded in high season, empty in off season. Extremely close to the beach.

This place is very laid back prior to memorial day.  it is first come, first serve.  it is on a river that opens up to the ocean.  be careful of your awning as it is very windy.  
they also have a boondocking area (overflow) for $30. the full hookup sites are $50.  its NH so no tax.  :)

A beatiful place

If you are looking for a New England oceanfront RV park, this is a great choice. It is basically a parking lot, but with full hookups and on the ocean. The ocean breezes are fantastic. One side of the campground is bordered by an inlet that fishing boats use to head out from the harbor. Another side is sand dunes, that are the south end of Hampton beach. You can't see the open ocean from the camp site, but you can see the inlet and walk right out onto the beach. It is really hard to find a beach campground with elbow room and full hookups. This is a great one. It is very difficult to get reservations as it is extremely popular.

The campground itself is pretty standard, but the oceanfront location is classic NE style summer camping. Also classic NE style, it’s packed in the summers. We caught the tail end of the season last year and the beach was super peaceful and much quieter than in high season.

Hampton Beach SP is a small beachside campground for self-contained RVs only; if you’re in a tent, you may want to look south to Salisbury SP just a few miles across the border into MA. That said, Hampton is a summer destination beloved by generations and this location puts you near the beach, a few miles from the boardwalk and all of its activities as well as and Wed evening fireworks&amp; concerts, and across the street from daily fishing and whale watching tours. 

  

It opens about a month before Memorial Day weekend for a quieter shoulder season. There’s no protection from the sun, so you may appreciate a shelter of some sort if you expect to be outdoors at your site during the day. It’s crowded with day users. Sites 1-15 line the Hampton River and are back-in; sites 16+ are inside and pull-throughs. Neither one is far from the water! There’s a jetty to sit on and fish from or watch the sunrise. I enjoyed the morning deep sea fishing trips from companies across the street.

We rolled in at 6:30, and Shawn had us ready with full RV hookups at our site in 10 minutes.  Level sites witg fire pits.  Views were gorgeous.  Easy walk to restaurants.  Friendly neighboring campers.
