With six campgrounds to choose from, you shouldn't have any trouble finding the perfect campsite. For a little extra space, try one of the family campsites.

Be sure to stop by the Truman State Park Marina to pick up ice and other supplies for your stay.

Raccoon Ridge — Harry S Truman State Park

This is a well equipped campground within the Harry S Truman State Park, close to the official welcome center, and hosts a variety of nice features for campers. Sites are basic (fire pit, picnic table) and can also accommodate RVs thanks to electric hookups and a dumping station. There's water available, along with showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.

The roads in the area are prime for bike riding, and there's a nice view of the lake from the nearby boat loading bay.

Loud bugs, but solitude and shade aplenty

Truman

Stayed at Racoon Ridge campground in the Harry S. Truman State Park. Nice park. Pretty quiet. Has a decent beach. Shady spots with or without water and electric. Tent sites and basic sites available.

Peaceful campground

Loved our stay here. Very quiet and spread out state park with great accommodations. The restrooms are newer, clean, and well maintained. I will attach photos. Campsites are well shaded and not on top of each other. The hiking opportunities are plentiful. This is a boater and fisherman's paradise. The large lake offers beaches, swimming, kayaking,  and of course fishing and skiing.

Great place

Was perfect, there are several campgrounds to choose from.  We picked one that over looked the lake and we could walk to from the campsite.  The campground has its own beach and its own boat launch that are only for campground guests.  There is also a public beach and boat launch in the park that is separate. We had the whole beach to ourselves for awhile, the most we seen was probably 5  or 6 families at the beach at once.

The only down side about going when we did was that the lake was up so no swimming. But we went for a awesome hike.

My wife, 1year old daughter and myself stayed 2 nights in site 42 in Racoon Ridge and enjoyed it greatly, despite the rainstorm on day #2. The bathrooms were very clean, had hot water and showers. The grounds themselves were pretty spotless and well maintained, the staff was very helpful and polite and every other camper we saw seemed to be having the same experiences we were. The swin beaches were closed because we stayed in late September, but the hiking was beautiful, weather was perfect and the wildlife was very abundant everywhere you looked. Have already recommended this place to several friends looking for new places to checkout. 

Great little campground!

Less amenities than other near by State Parks, no playgrounds mainly and the sites aren't too close to the lake.  Power only, so be prepared for that if you are looking for hook-ups. Overall, you can't beat Missouri state parks for beauty, cost and availability of trails to hike! Enjoying our stay here!

Peaceful

Site 36 with 30A &amp; 120V. Public Water Spigot about 50’ away. No Sewer or Water connections at Raccoon Ridge.
Plenty of dead kindling and wood around to burn.
Asphalt drive with concrete pad.
Picnic table, fire/grill ring, hook post w/ recycle bag attached.
BEST Site is 38 which puts trailer door parallel with a 180 lake view.
Heavy wooded with shared paths to lake or cove. Marina is within 1 mile by water or 15 minutes by car.
Ice, Beer and necessities at Puddle Jumpers Bait Store about 10 minute drive.
Hosts were great and did cleaning daily. Showers and Dump Station at top of hill few hundred yards away. Let shower water run about 3 minutes before the warm water kicks in. Swim beach is on other side of cove or about a 5 min drive.
Dump Station has 4 Waste Holes, two Non-potable water spigots/hoses and one Fresh Potable Water hose and both sides have slight incline on dump tank side.
Downtown Warsaw is about 15 minutes away with tourist antique 
shoppes, bars, ice cream shoppes and the historic Joe Dice Suspension Bridge. The Truman Dam is about same distance away.
T-Mobile service with 2-3 bars, no WIFI; but HotSpot worked for ROKU.
Keep food and bait inside as raccoons rule at night.
Be CAUTIOUS of Red Ticks that are VERY tiny… you’ll want plenty of DEET! Flies were biting like crazy, some mosquitoes and LOTS of May Flies.
You’ll see Bald Eagles, raccoons. deer, squirrels, chipmunks, hawks, turtles and FISHING near wooded edge of cove is Bass and Crappie haven!!!
Also Geocaching near by!!!

We will return and hopefully get site 38!
