montrose conservation area missouri

this little off the beaten path camp ground his paved roads, boat access for 2 areas 1 near the damn which closes a gate after 10pm, we use the other area near the conservation station(although ive never seen anyone there) park rangers are mostly non existent , they do drive through, they are quite nice an most the time never stop just smile an wave, there some fire spots but be kind an put up rocks that you can find along the shore, there is bathroom facilities and a dumpster behind the conservation building.

the area is surrounded by trees but the area is clean, nice soft grass, there are pecan an walnut trees so watch out for your heads when its fall lol . you can fish, boat and swim but i recommend  water shoes. the water is very shallow most the time its only chest deep out in the middle. there is loads of wildlife to see an arent much scared of humans, racoons, beavers, crane, squirrels, dear, owls an much more. theres also blackberries in the fall.

all in all a very nice quiet little free camp area. we go all the time.

Large Lake for Sailing

Nice camping spots, cabins also available. You can rent boats at the marina. Tubing, fishing, kayaking and hiking also available.

Great family campground

This is a great family campground!!! It’s not nearly as busy as the state park which is awesome!!

Great Family Camping

Nice spacious spots, lake views, friendly campers. Great Hosts! Clean and well maintained. Our favorite spot for camping at Truman Lake. Close to boat launch. Great fishing, lake is accessible from many sites.

Wonderful place to visit

We have stayed here twice now, both times it was amazing. The on-site restaurant is a nice perk when you simply don’t want to cook. Small lake, but everything is clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.

Very nice

This campground is very nice, it has a nice restroom and shower facility and nice campsites. It also has a campsite that accommodates handicap. It also includes a playground and is within driving distance(10-15 minutes) from the lake 10/10 would recommend.

What a nice getaway. No internet, no cell, no problem. Great beach with a beautiful view.

Crabtree cove

We love camping here every year. It’s clean with plenty of space.

Nice with lots of amenities

RV sites are roomy with pleoof maneuvering space. Nicely stocked store, horse stable, fishing, boating, swimming, geocaching are all available. Shower & bathroom were clean and well kept. Lots of space between sites, so neighbors aren’t on top of you.

No lake view but nice and woodsy

We stayed in spot 65 in the east campground. The playground was clean. The bathrooms were clean but had a sewage smell. Our spot had plenty of shade. The pad was broken on door side so we couldn't use the mat because it dropped off about 2 inches. You can see the marina when you walk in but most spots don't have a lake view. our spot backed right up to the woods and our table was in the woods. We had a raccoon in our stuff every night :/ The flies were also out of control. Overall, I probably wouldn't return here.
