Nearly Empty

Nice State Park. Sites are fairly large and fairly well spaced out. Bathrooms aren’t great. We’re here on a Friday night and there are only five other people in the whole place.

Gorgeous Stop

Great little place to stop along the way. Roads are in great condition, water is crisp and very blue, grass is cut and kept up well, playgrounds are clean and tidy.

Memories of Days Gone By

The people of Missouri gave a wonderful gift to the people of the United States.  A gift I did not know about or had never heard of till we made the decision to camp in Missouri.

Big Springs was Missouri's first state park.  The CCC did a lot of construction on the park and so much of the…

Great Primitive Camping Week

Each year I travel to the area to shoot professional fireworks for the 4th of July. I have recently taken up primitive camping (late in life, but love it now) and this campground provided a wonderful experience to accompany my favorite time of year. We found an absolutely beautiful spot along the…

Country Life

I must make a comment regarding two other reviews. A lake is generally deeper than a pond. You weigh the depth and surface to judge if a body of water is one or the other. In Arkansas you will find a pond on a ranch or a farm. Now in some areas of the United States there are lakes that cover masses…

Oh-Ozarks

We enjoyed clean well-maintained bathrooms. Men’s showers were hot and the women’s were cold! The grass was mown well, so it was easier to tent camp. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Scenery was spectacular.

Cozy little campground

Not big but definitely good for a stopover on a cross country trip. Only here one night but seems quiet and cozy.

Great place to camp!

The Greenville Recreation Campsite has much shade, level concrete pads, a picnic table and fire ring at each of the 100+ camp sites. There are walking and biking trails. Boating, swimming & fishing access is available at nearby Lake Wappapello. The campsite is actually located in the area of…

Ridge Campround - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

We booked online, from the photos of site 48 at the Ridge Campground loop, there was plenty of space for our tent & to enjoy our weekend camping. We could not have been more WRONG! This site is TINY! Not even enough room for our tent, the fire pit is nearly touching the picnic table & a…

Not a bad site here

Ok forget the ever running trains not to far from back of campground or the 3 mile drive on a dirt and gravel road, this is a beautiful park. The river that runs through it has great fishing. (Just down from fish hatchery) Just wish they had sewer sites available. Staff was great and very friendly.…

Great for kids and a few nights

Sites are paved easy to get into and very level. Power and water both worked very well and the dump station had easy access. 3 playground areas and a neat old civil war cemetery are located in the camping area. It is a part of the trail of tears and there are lots of historical things to look at.…

4 Star Now - Soon to be 5

Not sure what the backstory of this campground was, but Josh took over in April and you can tell he has put a lot of work into fixing it up.

We stayed in a cabin. We don’t stay in many cabins - usually in an RTT - so I can’t compare what is typical. The weather was wet and windy and we were in…

Nice little park

We stayed here over Veteran's Day weekend and had a pretty good time. We camped in site 54 which the website listed as a 45ft pad, but it was pretty difficult getting our 32ft camper in there. Only complaints would be- it was a small campsite, not alot of room around the firepit, and the only…
