The Brazil Creek Recreation Area serves as a trail camp for the 24-mile Berryman Trail and the 40 mile Courtois Section of the Ozark Trail. The Berryman Trail traverses 24 miles of scenic Ozark countryside starting at the site of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp of 1937 and winding through timbered stands and fields. This section of the Ozark Trail is part of the over 200 mile through-trail. For more information about these sections of trail, visit www.ozarktrail.com . Camping, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding here offer the recreationist a pleasant measure of solitude and quiet.

To me **Brazil Creek Campground** is an ideal spot to base your adventuring out of. Primitive horse sites in your own little haven in the woods. Have an actual map handy and make any calls before you get here because your phone will do you no good.

One of the sites is the "Creme De'la Creme" with tie out areas for your horses, plenty of tent and horse trailer parking space and a short walk to a crystal clear steam just deep enough to dangle your tired legs in or sit your saddle sore body in the ice cold water.

True there is no variation of facilities (in other words bring your small shovel and tp, plus plenty of drinking water) but a small price to pay for the privacy and quiet this campground offers.

A trailhead is nearby for your riding enjoyment. This is what we call a remote or backwoods site in Ky and can be had through contacting the visitors center in the area for explanation of permit.

Hide and Seek

This is a bare bones campground, located in Mark Twain National Forest, it has a place for you to camp and a fire pit, that's it. No facilities, no water, no bathroom, no lights. If that's what you're looking for, then this is the place for you. Just make sure you look at a map before going there as there is absolutely no reception (I checked phones on Verizon and Sprint). It is close to the Ozark trail as well as the the Meramec river where you can go floating down.

No cell signal, and as the other reviewer has said, have your map to get there, because it's easy if you do. Your phone will not get you there. Beautiful clear water creek runs directly behind this "pull off" campground. There is only one actual fire ring &amp; picnic table, but folks have built other rock fire rings dispersed throughout the campground. Just off a main trail to Meramac river and horse and hiking trails. No water, amenities (not even a vault toilet) or cell service.
