This metal bridge over the Mississippi River leads to a canoe campsite and Adirondack-style shelter. The campsite is a popular layover for first day paddlers arriving from the headwaters. A privy, fire ring, and picnic table are available. La Salle Creek enters the Mississippi River a short distance downstream. Soon after leaving the rest area, the river abuts the La Salle SNA on the river right.

This 30-plus-acre park and campground is located on beautiful Lake Lomond and is a short drive from Itasca State Park, home of the Mississippi Headwaters. The park offers the serenity of northern Minnesota, only with the convenience of civilization just blocks away. You can go out for family dining in the evening, and listen to the loons while you nestle in your sleeping bag.

There is large beach and swimming area. The swimming area is marked by buoys to keep the boats out and there is a roped off area for younger children. Also on the beach there is a sand volleyball court.
The city campground, which is inside the city park, has over 40 RV campsites and over 10 tent sites. 10 seasonal sites southwest of the beach.
The park has basketball and tennis courts. Plus there is a softball field, called the Frog Pond. Oh, and don't forget about the nine hole disc golf course!
The park also offers three large picnic shelters which are located throughout the park. These shelters may be reserved for your upcoming family reunion or events.
If fishing is your recreation of choice, then you’ll be glad to hear that the park has a public access to the lake with a concrete boat ramp and two-boat dock to assist you. Fox Lake Campground is a family friendly campground known for its casual atmosphere and the guests enjoying the lake. Fox Lake is connected to the Turtle River Chain of Lakes. Kids of all ages can be found relaxing at the beach or taking a kayak or paddle boat out on the water. Boaters enjoy tubing and wake boarding, and fishermen and fisherwomen can be spotted casting their lines into Fox Lake from their boats or heading down the channel to fish on Lake Beltrami.
At the 13-acre campground, you'll find the Campground Store/Office, a Game Room, the Bathroom/Shower House/Laundromat, Fish Cleaning House, playground, volleyball area, and basketball court. The campground has full hook-ups with 30 or 30/50 Amp electrical service, sewer, and water.
