Quiet, peaceful campground on the lake

I have stayed at the Whitefish campground several times. The campground consists of 4-5 free spots next to the lake. The sites include a picnic table and fire ring, no running water, electricity, or sewer hook ups. There is a pit toilet located at the campground. This campground has a carry-in lake…

Good times.

This is a popular spot and it was pretty noisy. The camp host were great. I didn’t have reservations so I had to move around a lot because I wanted to stay for a few days. There’s lots of things to do And the water is just beautiful. Great places to hike around.

Just a wonderful magical state park

Campsites are spacious. New bathhouses and outdoor kitchen cleaning area. Quiet and peaceful. The hiking in the area is excellent. Adjacent to the Superior Hiking trail for more adventurous types. We had a wonderful time. Will be returning!!!

This campground will be a repeat

We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. Our campsite was on the hill in the David Dill addition. I appreciated the view of the bay without the tighter constraints of the original campground on the lake. The bathhouse was clean and well maintained plus it was key coded so no worries about…

Rustic and beautiful

All the perks of rustic camping (or lack of lol!) with a beautiful lake right in view of the entire camp. Pretty nice beach and it’s closer to highway 16 than most the other rustic camps we’ve come across. No campfires this year, nice wind off the lake and a fire ban.

Clean, Friendly, Fun

This is one of my favorite MN campsites. We stayed in a cart-in site: the cart worked well, the restroom/shower was clean, the site was beautiful and we were able to get down to a little rock beach by the water, it was also easy to book online. There is plenty to do at this park between hiking and…

Beautiful State Park

This was a wonderful stay. Very family friendly with a lot to do! There are modern facilities in the drive in campground, nothing fancy but they got the job done. We stayed mid-week and the park was busy but not overly full. You can rent kayaks, canoes, etc. at the park office of a decent price.…

Peaceful spot to rest

This campground is tucked into the Superior National Forest but off of a main road. Access is easy enough for most rigs other than maybe very large ones.

There are a little over a dozen campsites here with 4 on their own loop in an ATV camping area.

The sites vary in size and access due to…

Great for 4 wheelers

Friendly campground! Nice restaurant on site. Seems to cater to the side by side...ATV crowd.  Lots to see and do in the area. Take a drive over to Ely..cute town. Visit the old Irin mine! We had a God stay...but sites are tight for larger rigs. Gravel road in is rough so go slow. Did not try bath…

Best State Park Ever

Fantastic state park on Lake Superior! Best bath house ever! Great little  camp store and informed staff. Sites are large and most in the upper ground are private. We stayed in 4 sites over 2 weeks. Most have only electric hook water or sewer. The roads are paved so no dust!  Easy access to…

Perfect for us!

This place was great for my boyfriend and I. It was clean, quiet, and simple. Our spot was in the middle and we could still hear the river at night. Bathrooms are clean, however there are no hand sanny dispensers. It is first come first serve and check out is at 4pm so that is the perfect time to…
