This is a bit out of the way but it’s a nice, small rustic campground. The sites are medium size but give you privacy from others. A vault toilet and water pump are centrally located. Recycling and garbage bins are near the exit.
Follow the .9 mile trail along the river or drive over to Lake…

This campground has the best showers and toilets. Lots of beautiful trees and shade. We stayed in 19E. Plenty of trails leading to Lake Superior’s rocky shoreline. The water is cold.
Drinking water around the site and multiple outhouses near us.
19- is across from the camp host and wood is in…

Lots of nice pull through sites. Excellent for truck campers. The lake views for sunsets we're amazing. Vault toilet across from site 6 must be new as it was very nice for what it is. Our firepit tipped over with the weight of the grill swung out. Town of Two Harbors is 26 miles (30 min) away, so…

Nice wooded sites with just a short walk to the river or water falls and although we visited in early June, there was surprisingly no bugs! Camp sites were clean and it was a very enjoyable stay.
Well maintained and clean site. Owners were friendly.
Beautiful area with a gorgeous view, lots of hiking 👣.
Beautiful area, quiet ,lots of hiking trails.
What a great spot! Quiet and comfortable, and when I called to confirm our spot (we were running late) the site owner was super friendly. The site was well maintained and easy to find even when we arrived after dark. Definitely coming back!!
A rare find - clean, level, large RV sites with full hook ups on the North Shore not filled with residents in all the good sites. Strict rules such as no early check in and no late check out. Tents and rvs also allowed in a section next to the highway with electric only. NOTE: no onsite dump…
Great hiking and mushrooming
We love rustic campgrounds and McDougal has become one of our favorites. It doesn't look like much at first but once you start exploring, you'll discover lots of hidden gems that make this place so fun for exploring.
This was a small campground but nice sites on the water with outhouses near by. $15 per night. Very nice fire rings but lack of firewood for sale anywhere near by. Lots of thorns in the brush.
Awesome state park! Right along side of State Hwy 53. All the amenities you would need. Clean restrooms, bathrooms etc. All kinds of room to stretch out. Playground in good shape and very large area's for BBQing. Also nice trail system for hiking with a few site's for backpacking in.

The campground offers a lot of choices. We stayed one night in a non-electric site then were able to move over to an electric site. It was a pretty full campground, but they did not have everything open. We had some great neighbors that were tent camping next to our camper. The showerhouse was…

Sites here can be pretty close so your neighbors are hopefully quiet or people you know. We had to change sites because of some snow and water and the park staff was great at accommodating. We ended up at site 17 and it was perfect. Had a faucet hear us and the bathroom was close. We were out on…
