Great

Great campground, clean restroom and shower house, clean spacious and shady sites

It's In A Small Town, Perfect For A Night

I was driving this way and I needed a place to stay overnight. I found this campground on Google, and added to Dyrt. It's in a small town called Fosston.

Nothing special about this, it's not a place to stay for multiple nights but it's great for an overnight.

There is a self-check-in, electric hookups and there is a dumpsite and water at the end of the campground. The price in 2020 September is $5 for a tent and $16 for RVs.

It's quiet enough but you will hear road noise.

I don't use public showers or toilettes but there was one.

AT&T and T-mobile reception both slow but manageable.

Potential for 5 stars

This place is lovely. It would be especially nice if you had kids to entertain. There is plenty to do here. Bathrooms are clean. We had three small issues. The first issue could have been a big problem but because the park was pretty empty it wasn’t. The very friendly lady that made our reservation got my name, phone number, date of arrival and price all wrong! Perhaps she has dyslexia? It all worked out because the park wasn’t full but if you book here check all the details a few times. The wi-fi password was given to us but we kept getting the error message that the word-fi was unavailable. The only other thing that was annoying was at 5 am I thought someone was mowing the lawn. Turned out be someone was driving around the park in a vehicle that sounded like a lawnmower. It wasn’t a very big vehicle and it had yellow lights on it. Maybe some kind of city vehicle? No more sleep after that. Oh well we got an early start out of there because it woke us up.

Nice place busy

There are a lot of things to do/see here. Headwaters, fish on lake itaska miles and miles of hiking/biking trails. Now the camping its really nice on weekdays and its ok on weekends but weekends have more kids and noise as expected. The major downfall was the FLIES they were insane there were so many one day we had to go inside just to get away. So plan on some fly deterrent method. This trip tought us we need it.

Trees and lake are beautiful

We had electric site and easily fit our 27 foot trailer. Beautiful campground. Lots of biking and hiking trails. Pets allowed.

Wow- this gem was discovered

Talk about a nice hideaway! We found this site Googling free campsites. It is not free it is $15 a night with full hookups! 50amps! My wife and I were so happy to find this place tucked away in the town of Hendrum, MN.

I only took away a star since the facilities are closed and the mosquitos are vicious! There is only room for about 3-4 campers so call in advance for a spot! It is well worth it!

Wonderful Visit

Itasca is a beautiful park. Gorgeous scenery to enjoy. We saw lots of deer within the park. We loved our stay at the Pine Ridge Campground. We were close to drinking water and the very well maintained modern showers/toilets. There are other campsites within the park that are more rustic if that is what you’re looking for. We will definitely be back!

Minnesota's Headwaters Park

A big park with lots of campsites and plenty of campers. Most of the day visitors congregate in a few areas and, by late afternoon, it's not difficult to find some quiet spaces. While you are camping in the woods, you are always aware that you are sharing the space with many other campers. Your enjoyment will depend upon your patience and tolerance of what your fellow campers feel is "camping".

Beautiful area

Always love staying here

Adequate city park campground

This is a small campground in the city park in the village of MacIntosh. The city park itself is well manicured and well maintained, with community ball fields and picnic areas and playground. It is clearly a much loved community gathering place. The campground within it, though well maintained, has some drawbacks. The area is very open, with few trees and really no shade. It is also located immediately adjacent to Highway 2, a busy 4-lane highway with truck noise, and risky for kids or pets if they wandered away from the campsite. There are basic hookups for RVs if desired, and a dump station with non-potable water. At present time, due to the Covid pandemic, the bathroom facilities are closed for the duration. There is a gas station adjacent to the park that has public facilities. This would not be a destination campground unless you were coming to McIntosh for a family reunion or other town event. It might also be a quick and easy overnight place to camp if you are travelling some en route somewhere else via Hwy 2.
