The sites are awesome. If you come with a group they do there best to put you with each other. The sites on the lake have spectacular views. You can here the waves most mornings. The sites are kept clean. The bathroom leaves a little to be desired, but they aren’t awful. If you are brave enough you and your kids can go jumping off the rocks… it’s safe I checked the depths before anyone jumped:)
Campground slopes down to lake level from hwy 61. Tent sights are private with some very close to the water. Most of the RV sites are more open. A variety of beach areas and a trail along the Cross River. An updated shower house would be nice.
Lots of RVs and generators being used. Family campground. Loud music. Had a couple visit my site looking for the dog they lost. Shinning flashlights on my site. Heck of a way to wake up. Its clean and the bathrooms aren't bad. Right on Lake Superior which is a plus. Grounds are kept up nicely. Staff are really nice. But if you're looking to hear nature this is not the place.
Amongst the plethora of MN State Parks, this is a beautiful family owned campground RIGHT ON Lake Superior Shore!
