Perfect little park in the middle of suburbia

This park is great! It has campsites, a playground, swimming, fishing, an outdoor amphitheater (with concerts!), pavilion rentals, and disc golf! Not to mention Oakland Paintball is in the middle of it! A great little park in the middle of suburbia.

Office Lied

We were told if we arrived by 9 PM we could have a campsite. We arrived at 8:50 and the office was closed. We had no where to sleep due to the fact that we had trusted the person in the office who lied to us.

Nice Area

The beach was a very nice place to spend the day. The lake was very warm and the swimming area had a nice depth gradient to satisfy good and not-so-good swimmers. The water was clean and the texture of the lake floor was comfortable for wading. There are flush toilets at the beach with a concession…

Family week camp

We stayed here for a week long adventure. Very nice set up campsites. They are moderate size. Camefire pits are not secure to ground, are just rings, they are above ground. Camp store has limited selections for supplies. They have a few children's activities such as swimming, volleyball net,…

Large but nice

Overall, a nice place to stay for a short visit. Much of the park is occupied by Seasonal and Full timers. There are 4 lakes so fishing, row boating, etc. is popular… so were the mosquitoes 😉 Rough dirt road into the park but otherwise well laid out once you understand all the “loops”. 2 man-made…

Large sites but feels crowded

The first thing to note is the long dirt road that you will travel to get to the campground. It’s really rough, we went about 12 mph.

Upon arrival the campground staff was very friendly and got us all checked in and set up with gate cards. The campground is also all dirt roads so it’s a slow go.…

Quite an unpleasant drive to the campsite

We stopped here for the night on our way to Indiana. It rained on us the entire time which made the drive to the site even worse. It’s a very bumpy, dirt road. It may not have been as bad without the rain. Once we arrived at our site, we realized we didn’t have a long enough cord to plug in! A lot…

Nice, quiet campground

This is a smaller campground with some full timers or seasonal campers. We stayed a week and enjoyed our time there. We had lots of rain so we didn’t get outside as much as we wanted. The sites were grassy and mostly level. Trees added shade throughout. The laundry room was older but clean and less…

First camping trip! Picked a great place.

We were told to pick a place relatively close by for our first RV trip. We are so glad we picked Walnut Hills Family Campground in MI. We mentioned it was our first trip and the staff fell all over themselves to make sure we were comfortable and that our questions were answered. These are…

Pontiac Lake Rec RV Site

Booked a two week stay at Pontiac Lake Rec. area in Whitelak, MI. Huge sites not stacked on top of one another. They have electric hookups, but only 30 amp. No water or sewage at the camp site but available within the park. Grounds are kept very clean and it has been a rather quiet stay even in…

Peaceful, well run campground

We thoroughly enjoyed the campgrounds- especially our lakefront full hookup 😊

The staff was extremely accommodating after I discovered my booking error - they worked diligently to make me a happy camper 😂.

The entire campground was well kept; the bathrooms, the grounds, and the laundry…

Beautiful beach and sites

We stopped here for a quick overnight trip on our long family trip. The site was large and easy to back into. We had a view of the lake which was beautiful. Bathhouse was clean.

It was full sun

We walked the beach in the morning and found a bunch of beach glass which the kids loved

Clean, spacious, fairly private with lots of activity options

We've camped at Maumee Bay State Park twice and enjoyed it both times.  The campground is part of a larger resort complex that includes a hotel, marina, a nice beach on Lake Erie, a second beach on an inland lake, golf course, mowed hiking trails and - our favorite - about 5 miles of beautiful,…
