Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping features cabins and sites for all types of campers. From modest supersaver sites (for those on a budget) up to large RV sites (sewer, water & 50 amp electric). From beautiful basic cabins, up to 3-bedroom, 2-story loft cabins with bathrooms. Over 200 acres of woods and a mile of shoreline, viewing the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge. Voted one of Michigan's top family friendly destinations by the Detroit News. A favorite vacation spot for thousands of summer visitors to the Mackinaw area for over 50 years!
We decided about a month ago to join friends who’d made reservations at the campground several months ago. It‘s no wonder why the campground fills up fast! Our friends‘ site was on the end of a row with a full lakeshore view with the Mackinaw Bridge in the background. We backed up to their site…not so beautiful. Our site was a tight squeeze for our camper (with the slides out, there wasn‘t room to extend our awning). But, we were happy to have a spot near them. There are fire pits along the lakeshore for anyone to claim. Since many sites are full-hookup, there aren‘t many comfort stations. The campground rents bikes and offers free shuttle service to the ferries. It’s a short drive to shopping. Sites are assigned by the campground…a bummer for those of us who like the hunt for the perfect site. Overall, we were able to extend our stay by a day just to sit by the water.
Very nice campground overall. Areas were clean, even the pit toilets were clean and pleasant. Lots of tent areas with large flat spaces. Bugs were not bad at all.
Only downside was little to no privacy or place to hang a hamock on available sites.
Camp store, lake access, ferry shuttle (Starline) and easy check in.
RV spots seemed to be fine but no experience.
Really nice campsites. Convenient camp store. Easy access to bike trails.
The prettiest campsite we've ever been to! it's right on the water! there's a lakeside and a beach side! We decided to go with a cabin, buy a tent site bear the beach would have been awesome too!
I love staying at this campground. It’s clean, people are always respectful of those staying around them, and the beautiful view of the Mackinaw Bridge! The camp store has everything you could need plus fun souvenirs if you’re trying to avoid tourist traps in the town. Reasonable prices and options for everyone from basic tents to cabins!
Beautiful scenery great staff
We typically go more rustic, but chose to stay here this year! We absolutely loved it! It is well taken care of, there is so much to do, and everyone who worked there was extremely friendly! We were right on the lake! It was perfect!! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful campground, amazing views and great staff. We spent Memorial day weekend tent camping in a beautiful site right by the water. Hearing the water was so relaxing. Large, very clean bathrooms and showers. Very helpful camp store. W will definitely be going back.
This is not a rustic campground by any means. They have a pool and store. They have a shuttle to take you into town for the ferry to Mackinac Island. They are right in Lake Huron so you can swim in Lake Huron too! They are a nice clean campground with all the normal hook ups. They are usually pretty busy, and close together, but they do offer some campsites that are in the more wooded section of the park that is away from the other campers.
This is seriously the quintessential, best family vacation in Pure Michigan!
