William Mitchell State Park is a popular camping, fishing, and boating destination. The 660-acre park is situated between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, providing excellent opportunities to view a variety of wildlife. The quarter-mile Clam Lake Canal connects the two lakes. Under road walkthrough by canal to get from one lake to another. The canal is in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Another Great Michigan State Park.  This State Park is located in Cadillac MI.  I love it  It is located between 2 lakes, Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell.  If you like any water sports this is the park for you.  I love that you can access both lakes by the Canal.  They have so much to do there.  When we were there one year we had cardboard boat races.

  

The bathrooms are clean and the showers are great.  They have playground.  You can walk to a few fast food and regular restaurants. In fact there is a walking trail right there and you can walk downtown Cadillac and enjoy their great waterfront also.

  

The campsites are big and with a lot of trees.  Again only electricity but with the great bathrooms that really is enough.

  

I like that the sites are big and have shade also have a ton of things for the kids to do and also adults.

In the heart of Cadillac

So, we usually get really decent sites when we go to Cadillac (there are a few really nice ones) but there are some there that are just a ridiculous size. That was ours this time. And the fire pit was in such an awkward spot...it was a good thing we knew other people there to relax at their fire because if we used ours it would probably have burned a vehicle from the neighboring lot. 
Large beach across the road is decent but the small beach in the park is laughable. 
But, we usually go to be with family and it a decent campground to get everyone together in.

Great park right in town. Love taking the boat and enjoying both lakes with the kiddos. Careful of Lake Cadillac and the rocks in the water.
