Woodland hideaway on an old mill river road. The plus is that this is not a maintained road so it is very secluded! The minus is that it is not a maintained road so you need an SUV to get to the site. Woodland trails from the campsite lead you to historic mill sites along a beautiful river including a swimming hole and waterfalls all within a few minutes away. In a 15 mile radius there two swimming lakes, Ashfield lake, Plainfield pond, white river rafting, kayaking down the Deerfield river at Zoar Outdoor, zip lining at Berkshire East or hiking the numerous local trails including an entrance to the Appalachian trail in Dalton. Go to our cooperative country store with local produce, home baked treats and delicious deli food while your out go see a country fair at the Cummington fairgrounds. Ashfield hosts a Saturday morning farmers market and drop in at Elmers for breakfast or the Lakehouse for lunch and a drink on the patio overlooking the lake. If you are missing culture go visit Mass Moca Contemporary Art Museum in North Adams and much more. This campsite is equipped with a queen sized bunk bed, camp stove, fire pit, pots & pans, dishes!
