Island campsite on the edge of a working farm with ocean views. Our campsite is located on the Turner Farm peninsula on North Haven Island, a one-hour ferry ride from Rockland, ME. You can also access the island by boat or charter -- connect with the CampKeeper for more information on moorings. You can drive up to the area with only a short walk to your site, or you can arrange for a lift from the ferry terminal with our CampKeeper. The site is situated in a quiet cove overlooking the water and surrounded by spruce and mosses. The farmers work in their vegetable beds on the other side of the farm, which you will pass on your walk towards our beautiful sweeping rocky beach on the bay. Bicycling, birdwatching, and sea kayaking are all popular activities on the island as well as just resting on the beach. Fresh lobsters and oysters are available during the Memorial Day to Labor Day season. Turner Farm is also known for its Barn Suppers during the summer and tickets are available on their website (turner-farm.com). Keep in mind that you are on a somewhat remote island: there is one grocery store with essentials and two seasonal eateries. Bring any pharmacy items you need and be sure to be at the ferry terminals 1/2 hour before you depart.
