Sagadahoc Bay Campground

The owners Pat and Eric are super friendly and accommodating. We have been camping there for three years straight now and look forward to going back each summer.

The most unique feature of this campground happens at low tide when you can walk over a mile out towards the lighthouse on Sequin Island ([https://www.seguinisland.org/).](https://www.seguinisland.org/).) (You cannot actually reach the lighthouse, mind you.) Plenty of clamming and watching wild life like hermit crabs, crabs, seagulls or your dogs running in joy on the soft clay like surface. The clams there are the sweetest and most delicious I have ever tasted, not to mention freshest. Clamming license, tools for digging and even pots are available at the office. You can order lobster bake and have it delivered to your camp site for dinner. Kayaks and canoes are available for rent, too.

We love the water front sites where you can see the tides come in and out and listen to the waves. On a weekend close to Independence Day, they put on a fireworks show out in the bay at low tide. (Just go to their Facebook page to see pictures.) _(Tip: We noticed that the campground cleared out a lot the days after July 4th. Very quiet and possible to go on a last minute camping trip.)_

This year we camped there with our dog for the first time and it was delightful to see how much fun he had on the beach, knowing that he was welcome there. Pat even picked a quiet site (#160) for us because we were worried about him barking. And probably because there are many dogs camping there, we never see any raccoon problems at this campground.

Reed State Park (ocean swimming) and Five Islands (great views and seafood) are a short drive away. There is also a country store minutes away where you can get almost anything including hot food.

One word of advice though: It is coastal Maine and there are mean mosquitoes. My all natural bug spray which is usually strong enough for NY bugs is not effective there. So I have to go back to the basic commercial brands like Off which works for hours per spray.

The bath houses are simple but cleaned several times a day. There is no mirror in Bathhouse #2\. There is a full length mirror in the toilets side in Bathhouse #1.

We have not taken advantage of that but they also have fully equipped cabins for rent.

If you have kids and dogs, this is a wonderful campground to bring them to. We love, love, love Sagadahoc Bay Campground!

The water views are great from the Oceanside sites. There is plenty of thugs to do in the area.  July is VERY buggy! The staff are very friendly and accommodating.  Would definitely go again.

Great views, smallish sites 

I enjoyed every bit of my experience at the campground.The staff was were friendly and helpful.The camping ground was right next to ocean and we could see a spectacular show of fireworks from our campsite.

Camping by the ocean

This campground is awesome. We got moved last minute down to the RV Oceanview section which was a great surprise. It’s a wide open field, and you’re definitely next to people with no trees to separate you but the sites have plenty of space. There’s a small beach within about a 1 minute walk, and when the tide goes out you can walk for forever. Lots of people come here to clam. There is not a bathhouse in the RV section (most people are self contained) so that was tough but there was a porta potty. We never made it up to the upper campground to explore the tent sites so can’t speak to up there. We’ll definitely return and check out the rest another time. 

Beautiful Maine Camping

Biggest dog beach ever when the tide runs out on the sand flats!
This is a largely undeveloped campground super for small camp trails and superb for tenting; restroom/shower facilities are spartan but all sites have water taps and staff have a good attitude
NOTE: PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IS REQUIRED FROM ALL ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS ENTERING THE PROPERTY

Fabulous location - great for dog owners

Had a great experience! The staff was very friendly. I would say this site has the best view in the whole camp, overlooking the lake and a short walk to the bath house. 

Ocean side

Very nice, some spots open and on the water, some treed.  Great tidal flat for claiming and walking.

Clamming anyone

This is our second year coming back to this same campsite. The owners were very friendly and attentive. This place is charming, rustic, and beautiful scenic. Last year we stayed for 3 days and it wasn't enough, so this year we booked it for 1 week. We have booked 2 sites for next year already, which tells you why we love this place so much.(Check the photos). The campsite is pretty quiet and spacious. Apart from an amazing view, you can't beat it. The campground was very accommodated plus we had 2 service dogs that loved this place so much. You can go down in the water during low tide to do clams hunting(you have to get a license from the front desk). All we can say is that this place is worth the$, time, no and stay.
