Picturesque, secluded campsite in the woods, with a short walk to the shoreline of Great Pond This rural campsite is situated in one of the most private corners of The Dome sanctuary. The tent site is just a short walk to the shoreline of Great Pond, a beautiful, remote small lake with a dock - the perfect place to kayak, fish and swim! Once you get here, you may never want to leave - but if you do, there is so much to do in the area. We are a 45 minute drive to the bustling coastal town of Bar Harbor, which is the gateway to amazing hiking at Acadia National Park - try to get to the top of Cadillac Mountain! If you want to stay close to the campsite, the nearby towns of Ellsworth and Orland are within 20 minutes and are great destinations for hiking trails as well as quaint shops and restaurants - make sure you try one of the many lobster spots. We live in a geodesic dome on a private dirt road. The number 214 is on the right hand pole at the head of our driveway. When you are coming down our driveway, look for a two track trail to your right hand side. Turn right and drive up to the Tentrr campsite. Water is available from a hose connected to our house. We also provide bedding, tiki torches, toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags. If you don't want to stop at the store, we can also provide you with firewood for a small additional fee. Just bring your food and yourselves! Also Please: Check campsite for trash or belongings. Carefully pack up the dome tent (if you used it). Clean out Tentrr CampBox (take your BBQ sauce!). Place (empty) Tentrr Loo inside canvas tent. Zip up all tent windows and doors (clasps, too). Take garbage bag(s) to designated trash point (check with your Camp-keeper). Clean up after your dog. Clean grill with brush after use. Please arrive before sunset. Beware of porcupines and skunks by keeping an eye on your pet. Keep food inside your vehicle or hanging from a tree to avoid bears. Please pack out what you bring in. Check campsite for trash or belongings.
