Tentrr State Park Site - Louisiana Sam Houston Jones State Park - Woodland J Double Camp

Situated along the Calcasieu River, Sam Houston Jones Park recently reopened (May 2022) with new facilities and renovations. The 1087-acre park features two boat launches, disc golf, a playground and several walking trails. Many new trees have been planted in the park to replace those lost to Hurricane Laura (2020) and a new 500-foot riverside boardwalk has been added.

Golfers can travel 10 mins from their campsite to play the public National Golf Club of Louisiana the states most affordable premier golf course. A driving range is available as well.

If you need provisions, there is a Rouses Market within a 5-minute drive of the park.

Woodland J is located approximately 1.2 miles from the park entrance. This partially shaded campsite offers drive-in parking and is near the river. It features two spacious 10 x 12 platform tents with a queen bed in each as well as two pop-up tents that can accommodate 8 additional campers. Picnic tables, 2 firepits and four Adirondack chairs are also included. There is a Tentrr Loo (camping potty) at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also be able to access the nearby park bathroom with flushable toilets and sinks. Park showers can also be used by Tentrr campers.

The Space: Great for larger families or groups this site can accommodate up to 12 campers with the pop-up tents.

Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the state park property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note:

• Check-in is at 3pm and campers must also purchase a $6 non-refundable park permit
• Pack your own food, water, firewood, bedding, bug spray and flashlights
• There is no electricity, AC, or heater at your Tentrr site, pack accordingly
• Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping and all sites will be inspected for cleanliness and damages before the next camper
• All trash MUST be deposited in the designated trash receptacle that is labeled on the map.Please notes : If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee of at least $50
• Pets are allowed. Please keep all pets on leashes(we recommend 6 ft), and DO NOT let your pets near or swim in any bodies of water.
• Please remember to respect and keep your distance from our wildlife in the park. Feeding any wildlife is prohibited. Be aware and watch all surrounding areas when going off trail.
