The site was trashy.

Trashy stuff all over, a garbage can that looks like it's been there a year never emptied, molding. had to move trash to park the camper. There are nicer sites but the back end of them are not up kept seemingly at all.

very nice camping spot

I would give it a five but the trails are all closed and some of the sites were flooded .

really secluded spots  easy to get into and camp is under the trees which is a nice touch .

Easy access to Big Thicket, clean, comfortable campground

About 30 mins to Big Thicket visitors center and hike access. There are several nice hikes in the park but many were closed due to a long-leaf pine reforestation project that involved logging and shredding. A bit inconvenient and we could hear the shredders but we met one of the project engineers…

Camping by the Beach

Nice place with a short walk to the beach.

Campground is nothing special, but we mostly hung out on the beach. We drove the RV out on the sand & had a campfire out there.(Didn’t sleep out there) Probably not allowed.

 Real bad mosquitoes at dusk!!!

Good place to stay

Quiet, clean, no pool, no club house. Nice place to stay, easy in, easy out. Close to food, shops, the mall, and the hospital.

Miles of Beach Camping

Or stay in the small, open campground with picnic tables, fire rings, water and electric hook up and a nearby comfort station. There’s an outside cold water shower and an elevated walkway crossing wetland to the beach.

The birding is absolutely fantastic so come with binoculars. I saw great…

Not my cup o’ tea.

Had high hopes for this location, but we were disappointed. I’m sure under better conditions, Rutherford may shine. But Hurricane Laura in August of 2020 really hurt. My impression was: devastation, smoke, debris. Even for a free camp site, life is too short. We moved on. Note: the Cameron Ferry…

Quiet, clean, delightful

We intended to boondock on Rutherford Beach, but we were wholly unimpressed with the area. Spring burning, hurricane devastation, debris - just not a good time for that area. And when the Cameron Ferry turned us down (said the ferry ramp was too steep for our 21 ft Chinook Concourse - we’d rip…

Nice small park

It is a nice park not big with some nice trails, the camping spots are really close together, restrooms and showers well maintained and cleaned daily.

Beachfront on a perfect beach

The area was ravaged by the fall hurricanes, so almost no stores, restaurants or gas stations are to be found within 15 miles..... so get everything you need before you get here, cause once you're here you have no reason to leave, if you're here for beach.

You'll get greeted by a southern…

Great little hidden gem

Found this place by accident. Its quiet, small and well hidden. The care takers are very helpful. It has clean showers and bathrooms, although they are very utilitarian. It sits right next to the swamp, with a nice boat launch and dock. From what the locals tell me. There is great fishing, plenty…

Dig sunsets?

I cannot speak to the actual park because we chose to stay on the beach.

Other than proximity to the lavatories, I cannot see why people would choose to stay in the reserved spots when you can wake up with a clear, secluded view of the ocean. We were one of two campers on the beach- and it’s…

Nice Park off of I-10

Private stocked lake. Very nice and attentive staff and park is clean and well maintained. Pull through sites close together as typical of rv parks.
