Near Land Between the Lakes

This is a small recreational area with swimming, a boat ramp, simple amenities at the campground. Eureka park/campground is right across the river/lake from the very large Land Between the Lakes park. There is camping in Land Between the Lakes itself, but Eureka provides easy access (there’s no fee to enter the park so staying offsite isn’t a disadvantage). Land Between the Lakes is an amazing park for any kind of recreation, from boating, swimming, and hiking to a working farm, nature center, Civil War history, even a planetarium.

Yay: The campground is right on the water, with the majority of the sites right on the water (and many facing west for sunset views). The campground is wooded, all the sites are large, but some sites don’t have much tree privacy. Shower house and the swimming beach were fine. There is a short hiking trail. There are a few boat ramps, one is very close to the camping area.

Nay: None.

Surprise: You can leave Eureka by boat and dock at Land Between the Lakes for a great trip. Great wildlife here.
