Partially shaded spots in central IL

Good spots with easy access to hiking trails and lake. Better in winter, spring, and falls months.

Full Hookup!!!

This is a great campground. Sites are pretty level and easy to get parked. Full hookup!!! There is a good sized lake that we have kayaked and swam in. The conservation officers are very nice and usually stop by to make sure everything is going great. They continue to improve the campground…

Revitalized lake beautiful campground

We ventured south to Geode State Park near Burlington, IA. We are getting the travel trailer tweeked in. We weathered a rainy 🌧 day Saturday (all day). There was enough room that it was not uncomfortable. We started having issues with our propane heater. So what do you do when camping and it has…

Nice place

Took our new camper out for a one night stay. It’s a nice small place with a nice little pond. The only real complaint we had was that there was no lights in the bathrooms, we didn’t want to use the campers bathroom for just one night. There were other bathrooms but they were locked. $20 a night…

Constant Returner

I’ve been going to this campground since I was a child, it’s one of my favorite places to camp. A popular place, during the summer it’s always full and kids running around, people walking and running and riding bikes, walking dogs. Great trails too, ranging from half a mile to 3 miles. Nice lakes,…

Cool little camp spot

We stayed here one night. We had a concrete pad for our RV which was nice and a decent amount of room to roam.

Very pretty scenery

I was only able to stay one night but i loved it. We hiked the equestrian trails one afternoon and the regular trails the next day. I camped in the equestrian campground and loved it with my popup. Outhouse type toilets are available there. I only drove past the RV campground and the campsites…

Iowa Gem!

Cute little RV/tent campground. Very nice hosts. Only stayed 1 night. Definitely on the 'let's go back' list. Waubonsie trail behind park is a short hike to the covered bridge and Dutchman's Store. Perfect Way to stretch your legs after a long day on the road. Bathrooms and showers were…

We love camping at Argyle!

Our kids love argyle for the paved roads they can easily ride bikes on, the 2 playgrounds and the room to run! We love it because of the spacious sites and options to hike and bike.

Very nature forward

Camp ground is a bit different than the rest. You pick out what spot you want and the host will come around to you. No sewer hookups for RVs they do have power stations and water. Have to share water at some spots. It’s about a 5 min drive either way to go fishing. There’s a town close by if you…

Beautiful

This park has something for everyone. They have primitive tent sites, electric only, electric+water, and fhu. They also have cabins for rent. All very reasonably priced. Most of the sites are nice and shady and level. A bathhouse with showers. A stone lodge for large parties. There is a…

Great Boating/Fishing

Well kept campground on a lake. Spots are all on grass. Most are level. Lots of shady spots. Picnic table and fire ring. Seems like most of the sites are seasonal campers. Very quiet for how many campers are here. Restrooms and hot showers, fairly clean. This would be lots of fun for…

It’s okay

Stayed off Boulder lake and near very wooded area. The lot itself is good but your neighbor was close. There were lots of frogs and mosquitos near the lake in which get very close to your site and public area. Grounds around site were not very grassy mostly muddy or with rocks. Bathrooms and…

Nice and clean

The concrete slab was large enough for our camper and rug along with the picnic table! A lot of room! The BBQ was nice and the fire pit had a built on grill as well. Our pad was close to the lake so a two minute walk and we’re fishing!
