As expected, bugs are an issue in this woodsy campground. Bathrooms had several issues but they were being addressed as we were there (ie broken sink). There's some hiking trails and nice overlook of the Mississippi River. Longish gravel road to get there, no sign of camp host.
Beautiful campground right by a stream that empties into a huge lake. You can trout fish, kayak, and hike. Not too far from town
Clean campground. Randy was great. Amenities were solid. Shuttle service is nice but I felt a little mislead after our phone conversation compared to what happened.
We’ll go back
This is a nice hidden little privately owned campground. The host, Randy is super nice and helpful with whatever you need. There is also the bar/store where you can get refreshments and food. Try to get a site closest to the bluff for the best experience!

We only spent a night at the resort (actually slept in the cave). One thing to know for sure, bring a tarp or tent to cover yourself. We went in March, so with all the runoff from the snow ir was a very wet experience.
I’ve been here twice as a scout so it was a lot of fun to return as an adult…
Went there last weekend had to do a walk up everything else was reserved. Clean park area, bathrooms were disgusting though. Talked to the DNR he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of places to walk around and hike. Overall a good place to stay for a few days but not much to do after that
This was a quick stopover so I can't comment on the park overall. It is nestled in the woods not far from the Indian Mounds area in Iowa. I stayed at Little Paint Campground. There are pit toilets, but the water said not for drinking. A small river runs by the camp. The park has hiking and…
This is a beautiful campground seated in a valley surrounded by amazing hills. There is minimal phone service. That means you get to absorb nature.
Many different trails for hiking, biking or equestrian. Camp sites are mostly grass. Beautiful park
Nice campground, beautiful stream runs through it. Mountains, valleys, just gorgeous. Clean bathrooms with hot water. Shed with dry wood for purchase. Electricity, potable water connections, sewer.
Beautiful Park and wonderful Campground with restrooms & showers. they also Supply you firewood.
I've done this loop several times, and have never been disappointed. Lots of quiet, and many more great views on the upper trails. There are some thin trails down steeper hillsides, so make sure to take it slower if the ground is muddy.
Trout streams well fed, campsites spread out well, amenities good for primitive use area. Horses welcome, firewood and ice available. Historical Fire Tower hike/visit is a must. Primitive pack-in sites, 1 cabin available. Modern Cabin is well maintained, electricity, microwave, a full sized…

Perfect for a quick night away from the twin cities. Several small hikes to the bluffs right from the campground loop. Solid campground all around.
A beautiful location in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Near hiking, biking, fishing attractions. The campground is well groomed with lots of camping spots available. First come First serve with all sites being group sites. A membership is required and covers all the amenities, well worth the…
