Got to the campground around 6pm on a Friday and no one was at the primitive campground which was nice. The picnic table and fire ring were clean and in good condition. By 10:30 the park was quiet and peaceful. Lake hasn't completely filled up yet so no fishing or boating. Would definitely come…

It is a small river campground, no shower houses, but there is a Porta potty. Never too busy even on holiday weekends.
Excellent amenities well run Very clean. Surroundings very pretty
Hidden gem just outside of Des Moines!
Pros: -Small park (only about 20 spots) but it’s easy to get a spot without reserving ahead -Site 15 for primitive campers is HUGE. Easily the size of 2-3 sites at other campgrounds. -Very shady campground, beautiful trees all around -Nice, well-marked…

This area offers free primitive camping with no amenities(no toilet, no drinking water, no fire rings). It does offer a chance to get away to see a little wildlife. The first thing I heard when I got out of the car was the call of a pileated woodpecker, which flew away before I could take the…

All campsites at Timmons Grove are$18/night and are electric. I have visited this place many times but only camped once. This place has never been busy when I have visited.
I generally do not camp electric, so$18/night was steep for non-electric tent camping. There is no shower and the…

Great park. Nice sites, plenty of green space, clean.
This RV park is right off the interstate but far enough you won’t hear the noise. I can’t tell you if they are actually Iowa’s best burger because this is the only burger I’ve had in Iowa.
Nice people, everything is clean. Spots are pull thru. No issues at all.
It’s a one night because unless…
Normal campground, all things you need is it really camping……best part was the brewery in Knoxville
A lovely and quiet campground. The huge drawback is the water quality of Saylorville lake. It is toxic— blue algae from farm runoff. Not safe for man or beast.
Campground has a lot to offer for families of all types. Parks for the kids, hiking trails, nature center with bison and elk, golf course, mini golf, lake access, fishing and more. The different sites offer different feels. Some down by the water with a view of Saylorville with a lot more sun or…
The campground was well maintained and very quite. Great place for a quick trip. Unfortunately you can not rent kayaks or canoes at this time due to water levels. Overall a hidden gem I would say!

The park is quite with some nice camping spots. Very quite with nobody around. The park could use some improvements but parks like these are my favorite!
Great selection of campsites for a wide variety of needs. Wonderful views from most sites. Access to multiple walking trails. Beautiful, wooded setting. Clean bathrooms/showers.
All the spaces are pulled through. It is very clean. There is full hook up for water, electric and sewer. All spaces are paved. There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park. If you are here to gamble, you will love it. If you are here to rest, you will love it. My wife and I feel safe in…
