Definetely Going Back

We camped here with young kids in May. Though most of the campsite are cramped with no shade, ours was huge, fully shaded, and had a short trail to a great view of the lake. There were also other trailheads very close. We hiked several trails, some well-traveled, others overgrown and eroding, and saw groundhogs, a giant fish, salamanders, raccoons, birds, and some unique finds like an apple maple wasp gall. There were also signs of deer, and remains of small animals like fish, a vole, and crayfish. (We felt one of the "moderate" trails was definetely more rugged than advertised.) At night we could hear a lot of animal noises, including raccoons fighting, owls, and cyotees, and had several animal visitors to our site (and sniffing at our tents). We visited the office and camp store several times, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, we loved our trip and plan to go back again soon…as long as we can get the same site.
