Extensive Campground

This is an extremely large campground. About seventy-five percent of the sites are electric. We stayed in Site 255, which was not electric (booked last minute). This site was fairly level but very close to other sites…wouldn’t recommend it. However, Site 269 (next to Site 277) afforded great…

Great stay

Village owned and operated campground, right on the St. Joseph River. Open all year. Many long term campers. $35 gets you a level full hook up site with WiFi. Very clean and well maintained with friendly staff.

Great weekend!

Got to camp 9/10 and will be staying thru 9/12. Lot 102 is perfect! Shade the majority of the day, very back of the camp ground and close enough to walk to everything! We got up Saturday morning and rented a row boat for the day. Spent the day checking out the lakes, then hiked a couple of the…

Very pieceful

The grounds are great nice and quite. There is a close lake for fishing and they are open year round which in this area for me is a plus. Unfortunately the bathhouse is very rough. There is no filter on any of the well water so it smells like rust and it looks like it is under construction which…

Quiet with basics

No complaints other than a $15 (plus tax) charge for 45 minutes early check-in. Given the park was 2/3 empty that seemed unnecessary. Staff wasn’t real friendly either. The park was clean and quiet and next to some beautiful grazing fields with cattle and horses.

Labor Day at Chain

We stayed at site #99 which is fairly easy to find and somewhat secluded from the main camper section of the campground. The site and neighboring sites are non-electric which makes you have to be creative if you need an air mattress. The site is partial sun midafternoon. The campground can get…

Great place close to home

I took my son for a quick trip, but the camp grounds were full, so we made a day of hiking, biking and fishing…of course we had a picnic, too. The trail head near the fishing dock was the perfect place to park. It allowed hiking one way and biking the other. The trails were very well maintained,…

Awesome Place

This is one of the best parks we have been to in Indiana. We Volunteer all over our the USA at State Parks and National Forest. So we know what to look for. Friendly people to answer questions plenty to do. And affordable.

Great family friendly campground

We stopped here for a night on our cross-country trip, wish we had 2 nights because we had lots of thunderstorms.  We camped in our teardrop on the primitive tent loop.  Sites were nice and secluded where we were, but you could hear a few late night partiers nearby.  Tons of things to do…

Bear cave

Very nice campground. They have a naturally formed cave that you can go down into for a small fee. A variety of things to do from fishing to the game room. Great family getaway

Great Campground

This is a nice, family friendly campground. Lots of very friendly other campers, a heated pool, playground for the kids, nice size lots with fire pits, picnic tables, electric& water (including at tent sites). Pool has an ADA lift chair. 2 shower/bath houses, camp store, a real bear cave you…

Fantastic KOA

We’ve been to many KOA campgrounds over the years. Some great, some I’ll never go back to. Hogback Lake definitely ranks at the top of the list. The owners take excellent care of the property and you can tell they’re continually reinvesting in maintenance and upgrades. They have a new pool and lazy…
