Kishauwau’s Starved Rock Area Cabins offers luxury vacation cabins for the weekend, weeknight, and all-week getaways and we are open all year round. Our beautifully constructed cabins offer a blend of country charm equipped with modern conveniences.  It's strictly cabin rentals here, no tent set ups allowed and no RV's.  

Cell reception on our property is spotty & there is no way to know until you get here.  I have wifi in our office and will give it if you need to check e-mail or look for things to do in the area but we do not allow people to sit in our office all day on the internet social networking or gaming as it slows down our work.  We understand that some people need it for work or school and that's fine.  

Our property is host to 17 cabins in varying sizes. Spacious and well equipped, these Illinois cabins are spread throughout 65 acres of beautiful wooded landscape on a bluff above the Vermilion River. Catering to large family reunions or a quiet, romantic getaway for 2, we are one of Illinois’ premier cabin rental destinations. Whether you’re putting together a family reunion, needing a family vacation cabin or just a romantic weekend getaway for two, Kishauwau’s Starved Rock Area Cabins has what you are looking for.

Each cabin rental comes equipped with basic pots, pans, cooking utensils, and dishes in the kitchen, a covered porch (most with porch swings), a personal outdoor fire pit, an indoor wood stove or gas fireplace (for wintertime use only; contact us for details), and much more.

What would a vacation be without everyone’s favorite family member? We welcome your dog with our four dog-friendly cabins on property.

We simply ask you read our pet policies listed under each dog friendly cabin in the “Cabins” tab or contact us prior to your trip.

Each dog will add an additional $15 plus tax per night to your reservation. Simply list 1 or 2 dogs in the pet field when booking on-line and the system will add the fee for you.  I do ask that you notify me in e-mail that you have read and are fine with the policies as we are firm with those.

Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins

Located in the Middle of Southern Illinois just Off I-24 it is a great place to stay while you explore all the the Shawnee Forest. From Giant City to Garden of the Gods. The Tunnel Hill bike trail is a half mile away and Cache River is just down the road. We have 60 Full Hook up sites. Large pull through sites up to 120 feet long. We have Shower Houses and Laundry Facilities. Our Campground is Open Year Round.

Buena Vista Farms is a newly constructed camp ground on State Highway 67 in the middle of Illinois. We are short trips to Springfield, IL, Abraham Lincoln sites, Hannibal, Mo, Mark Twain sites and Saint Louis, Mo. Our RV sites are all full hook up, and some pull through spaces are 90 feet long, for Big Rigs. We offer back in sites on the water, and pull through sites. We have lots of green space, 60 feet between pedestals, 2 fishing lakes, canoes, kayaks and paddle boat, playground, hiking trails and no light pollution so you can star gaze around your camp fire. Sites all have fire pits and picnic tables. Tiny home cabins are fully furnished and available monthly or daily, in 3 styles, to sleep 3, 4 or 6 people.  We offer 2 furnished apartments for traveling professionals on our park like setting.  Seasonal, monthly or overnight campers are all welcomed!

Arrowhead Recreation and Wildlife Area is located just off Interstate 57 at Johnston City, Illinois (Exit 59) in Williamson County. The area boasts a 30-acre lake, paved boat ramp for fishing, walking path, and 66 sites for RVs and tent camping. Handicap accessible campsites are available. A cabin is available on-site for one to four people. Only electric motors and canoes are permitted. You will find largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black and white crappie, and channel catfish in this small reservoir. Take advantage of discounted rates for seniors, veterans, and stays longer than 7 days. Electric and water are available at all sites (water to sites not available in winter). Experience an old-time feel while visiting the on-site general store. In winter, it is a great place snuggle up to the potbelly stove with a good book. When spring comes, pick your own blackberries, raspberries, and wild strawberries to enjoy during your stay. Fish, hike, play ball, or just relax. There is a little something for everyone at Arrowhead Lake Campground. Only electric motors and canoes are permitted on the lake. You will find largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, black and white crappie, and channel catfish in this small reservoir. North Sandusky Campground offers more than 60 reservable campsites. All campsites have electric hookups, 16 campsites are full-hookup, and the campground offers a dump station, hot showers, flush toilets, and drinking water in order to provide a comfortable camping experience for guests. A boat dock, boat ramp, playground, and disc golf course are also conveniently located next to the campground.

Lithia Springs Campground sits on the eastern shore of Lake Shelbyville in the heart of central Illinois.   
  
  
This facility has a variety of amenities and offers outdoor activities for people of all ages, including fishing, swimming, picnicking and simply relaxing.

## Recreation

Lake Shelbyville offers a multitude of fishing opportunities for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, muskie, walleye, white bass and bluegill. Lithia Springs provides a boat ramp, and for those without a boat, several ponds with farmed fish are available around the lake.   
  
Hunting areas within a short drive offer numerous game species, including quail, rabbit, pheasant, deer, dove, turkey, waterfowl and woodcock.

Lithia Springs has more than 100 campsites, all of which have electric hookups. Some campsites are on the lake shore within a short walk of the water. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, a playground, swimming beach, dump station and boat ramp. A full-service marina is located adjacent to the recreation area.

## Natural Features

The campground lies in an oak and hickory forest. Foliage turns a variety of red, orange, purple and yellow each fall, while prairie flowers dot the landscape in spring and summer.   
  
Numerous species of songbirds, shorebirds, waterfowl and raptors inhabit the lake area, as do mammals such as cottontail rabbit, white-tail deer, gray and fox squirrel, muskrat and mink.
