Nice park for the family or just to get a way for a few days

This is a nice park with a lake for fishing. There is a veterans memorial which is beautiful. It is a bit more built up in some areas than I would like (for example, there are horseshoe pits) which can make for some fun but I tend to like to escape into nature. If that is what you are going for then this may not be for you or you should camp in the sites along the west of the lake near the playground and the shelter. The fishing was great and you can boat and kayak on the lake. I was having great luck using a bright green spinner for bass and a simple jig for crappie. Largest Bass I caught was 18" and the smallest was 14".
