## Overview

 This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the\_\_Recreation.gov\_\_mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to\_\_first download the free\_\_Recreation.gov\_\_mobile app\_\_https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app\_\_prior to your arrival\_\_as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service.

Iron Creek Campground

First come, first served and self-serve pay sites. No shower, just one pit toilet. Even in the summer, nights drop into the 30s so we opted to car camp vs pitching our tent - especially since there was a fire ban during our stay. The night sky was breathtaking. The hike up to Goat Lake is still one of our most favorite hikes, simply gorgeous but strenuous at times, so be prepared. This was a great location to stay if you are planning to hike out of the Iron Creek Trailhead.

Magical.. for those who love to sweat for the reward at the end of the trail. Absolutely gorgeous.

Great hiking access to several Sawtooth alpine lakes right from the campground

Awesome access to the Sawtooths

We have been here a handful of times and are going back in a few weeks. Campground is pretty quiet with limited sites and 1 vault toilet centrally located (doesn't smell the best all the times we have been been there). There is also 2 toilets at the trailhead a short walk away. Campsites are pretty private for the most part. Ample room also. The trail is used by a good amount of people as you can access Alpine, Sawtooth, Stanley Lakes a long with other side trails that lead to lakes and points of interest. People on the trail are friendly as are the town folk. The town of Stanley has about all you could need for supplies. There are mosquitos.....with the late snow melt the area and some of the sites stay pretty moist with it right next to the creek. Still a nice pretty place to go for a few days. It is on a first come first serve basis.

Quiet and Peaceful

Gorgeous area with access to amazing hiking and views. The campground is surrounded by a lush forest and has good seclusion of you're looking for isolation. For more solitude it also makes a good spot to set off into the vast Sawtooth wilderness. We made a trip to the beautiful Sawtooth Lake and only saw a few other hikers. Usually go to the south side of the Sawtooths but glad we made it to this side of the Sawtooths!

Iron creek is a basic no frills forest service campground run by an outside concessionaire. There are only 8 sites and they fill up fast because they are right by a very popular trailhead. There is one water pump and one vault toilet in the campground and another vault toilet at the trailhead. The Iron Creek runs behind about 5 of the 8 sites and sounds great. You are far away from the main road so no toad noise but sometimes the hikers will accidentally drive thru the campground loop instead of turning left to get out of the trailhead. The big reason to camp here is access to the hiking trails, especially trail#460 that will take you up the mountains to Sawtooth Lake. AMAZING hike.

Great overnight stop. No Verizon service.  Vault toilet.  Quiet campsite. Walk to the trailhead. Multiple hike options. Be bear aware. There was snow this visit. We camped on the creek and could see/hear the water.  Cell coverage at the entrance to the camp (start of the long bumpy road in).  Nobody drove past the campsite that we noticed.
