I visited this area while on a day off from staffing a sleep away camp in the area. We spent the day doing sport climbing on some of the many amazing rocks in the park and then trekked up to the viewpoint to get a beautiful look at the nearby area. The park is really wonderful and has a whole lot of trails and different areas where you can either set up top rope or lead climbing routes. The campground itself is slightly down the road from where the hiking and climbing is but has amazing amenities and is really well taken care of. The tent sites are large and spaced out though not so private but great if you have a group staying at several different ones. They also have volleyball courts and other fields you can use if you are staying there.
Family-friendly campground. Stayed here for Oktoberfest with friends. Sites are fairly small and very open. Not much privacy.
This is a mixed Rv and tent campground that also has long term residents. There is a pool, clubhouse, and playground. The tent sites are separate from the RVs down by a pond and small creek. The tent sites have grills and bathrooms but are a little close to the road and not very shaded for my taste. The RV area smelled of sewage the day I was there in mid summer but I have. When other times of the year when Thai is not a problem.
Tubing. Available. Cabins. Availible. Good. Food. At. Local. Resturants. Sightseeing. Beautiful. Scenery. Fun. For. All.
Great view of the surrounding area. A few camping spots but best for a day hike. Expect to see a lot of other people. Boldering spot on site.
We back packed up yonah mountain in November 2017. I won't lie it was steep but at right under miles up, the pain is worth it. We camped in the field at the peak of the mountain. Fire wood was plentiful. There are several fire pits in the area. Be sure to take everything you need including water. There is a seasonal spring near the top but it rarely flows. Sunset on the cliff tops are unbelievable as are the sunrises.
