The Blythe Island Campground has RV sites, primitive sites, and group camping sites. All RV sites have water, electric, sewer, cable, fire ring, picnic table, and small concrete pad. Primitive sites have a fire ring and picnic table.  All bath houses are heated and have hot showers. Laundry machines are located at the campground office (coin-operated or use app). Free WiFi Internet Service is available throughout the park. The park has security cameras mounted in different areas of the park for security. Blythe Island Regional Park

We stayed in the tent only area and it was nice.  I don't remember a lot of road noise but then we traveled 2 weeks around Florida and heard road noise in every park so maybe I was Immune to it.  The bath house in at the swimming beach and it is a little walk, so if you have little ones that might be a pain.  Also in the summer I can imagine it would be packed with day use visitors.  We checked in late so no interactions with any Park staff but the lady that booked the site on the phone was nice.  Park is close to Jekyll Island where there are killer bike paths all around the island and that is what we were there for.  The camp ground on Jekyll did not look good.  I would return and stay here.

This was our first camping trip.  We had a pull through site and loved it.  Nice quiet park with very friendly staff.  We have already booked for Thanksgiving.

We didn’t spend a lot of time here but we liked what we saw while here. The staff was friendly when checking in. Our site faced the small pond and was quiet.

Lots of RABBITS 🐇🐇

We stayed in the primitive camping area which had an otherworldly beauty with draped Spanish moss hanging from the trees. The sites in here were very pretty, many shaded, some less shaded, but most all had a good amount of space and privacy. The sites with the best view of the water were too close together for us, and we were able to switch to a more private site on arrival since many sites were open. The ground is packed sand and dirt, no grass. 
The restrooms are across the road from the camp sites, so a decent little walk from the sites. The water spigot was near the check-in office which was a few hundred yards away. 
We planned to be self contained, bringing our own road shower and pop up restroom, so we had no issue with this. 
The grounds are truly beautiful, though quite hot in early July, of course. 
You can buy firewood at the office and they drop it off right at your site for you. It was great burning split pine. 
Very enjoyable time for my wife and 7 year old son and I. 

Natural Beauty!

An easy to navigate campground. We pulled 35 feet with no issues. Nice walking trails, a lake, full hookups, clean toilets/showers, laundry, a little beach, and lots of shade. It's also very quiet and not crowded. We stayed a week. My only "issue" is the outside space and concrete slab is a bit small. Other than that a great find! Plus it's Parrot-approved....Iggy goes to all the campgrounds and he loved it. 

Very nice place to spend a few days

My boyfriend and I stayed in a primitive spot for three nights Labor Day Weekend. Some spots were definitely too close together but we were spread out and there weren’t a lot of campers in the primitive spots. The spots were within walking distance to the bathrooms and the lake which you could swim and kayak in. You could also walk to the showers (located behind the bathrooms-they give you a code to access)and main office but this was a bit further out. The main office has ice and fire for sale which was convenient. 

Some things to note:

-They stop selling firewood at 5 pm and nowhere in town sells it (we asked EVERY store). If you want a fire but won’t arrive until after five you might call to see if you can purchase over the phone (not sure if they will). They delivered the wood right to our site and we feel it was reasonably priced.

-The gate into the campgrounds locks after 7pm but they give you a code to get back in. They also had people driving around in golf carts surveying the area which was nice. We felt safe leaving our stuff to go into town which was conveniently located next to I95 and about a 10 minute drive from the campsite. 

-Alcohol apparently isn’t allowed in this campground. We brought some in anyway but we weren’t there to party. I don’t imagine this site would be good for a crowd looking to have a good time.

-The raccoons and possums at this campsite are straight up TERRORISTS and aren’t afraid to steal your food day or night! They even managed to lift up the top of one of our coolers and stole some of our food out of there so you know they know exactly where to look for it. I was really surprised the campground didn’t warn us about this on their handouts. Store your food in your cars, dump your trash before bed, and don’t leave any food out! The trash can they provide has a top but it isn’t big enough to hold everyone’s trash. If it doesn’t fit find another trash can! The coons will get into it and leave a mess which isn’t fair for the workers to have to clean up.

-If you plan on bringing your own kayak/paddle board, the lake is a nice little venture but it doesn’t take long to paddle the whole thing. They state if you want to use the lake you have to pay $5 per person but didn’t have anyone regulating this. There’s a bridge that you need to go under to access the whole lake on the right hand side if you do decide to launch. We didn’t get in the water while paddling. Too murky and it looked liked rock formations were everywhere. I wouldn’t recommend diving in.

- There is no grass in these primitive spots. Only dirt. Also the ants were really bad here. Definitely plan for that.

All in all the site was nice and we had a good time disconnecting.

Super easy check in process with friendly staff. The sites were spacious and had lots of onsite amenities. We enjoyed all of the wild bunnies as well.

Beautiful sites, very clean, ROAD NOISE!

In a few words, the campground has everything you need for a comfortable visit. Everything is super clean. The sites are full hookup. There is a laundry facility with 3 washers and 3 dryers, which as a full time vanlifer I really appreciate. You can buy propane for your rig here. Our site was across from the lake/pond which is very pretty. The park has lots of rabbits who will come right up to you looking for a food and will immediately scamper away when they realize you have no food. Now for the internet connectivity. For those who work and travel like us, on Speedtest at 12pm on a Wednesday: Verizon via iPhone 12 - 68 mbps down and 0.3 mbps up with 53 ms ping; T-Mobile via Nighthawk MR1100 - 46 mbps down and 6 mbps up with 268 ms ping.

(Sites 1-10 are lakefront view. I like #4 best) Sites are quite close to each other but well landscaped with trees and foliage between. All sites heavily shaded.  CLean and well maintained with full hook up.

There are well maintained walking trails around the lake and a big beach and swimming area at one end. Several picnic pavilions, boat and kayak rentals and fishing gear are available. 

Bath house was clean but ‘C’ grade. Not enough trash bins. 
Park location is close to Winn Dixie and Walgreens. 

BeautifulPark

Great little campground with full hook-ups, 30 amp &amp; 50 amps sites, back in &amp; pull through sites. Lots of wildlife everywhere and domestic rabbits all over the campground that they raise at the campground for the kids to feed &amp; enjoy. It's very quiet, lots of trees and plenty of distance between sites. There's 3 bath house but the showers kind of suck but they have hot water and fairly clean

Awesome place for families

My first reaction when arriving here?  What's with all of the long winding roads that seemingly lead to nowhere.  And oh, where are all the people?  Wow, was I in for a surprise!

This little gem is located just about 15 minutes from Interstate 95 and you'll see some of the pretties Georgia countryside as you make your way here.  Upon arrival, you'll follow the aforementioned endlessly well-paved roads of Blythe Island Regional Park until you get to the first of two open grasslands area, both in front of a small lake (perfect for letting your four legged furry creatures out to stretch their legs) that are each set off by clandestine group shelters (at least one of which had a fish cleaning area).

Following this, I came across the first primitive campground (which I would have booked after I had visited!).  There's about 20 spots back here and they all offer supreme amounts of shade, a solid bit of privacy and space with enough bends and turns to make it feel like you have the place generally to yourself. 

My inside tip?  Book one of the 4-5 campsites that are furthest south and facing the water - simply SPLENDID views as the sun was sinking.  Second BIG tip?  Don't book these, if like me, crabs scare the bejesus out of you - as these oversized hard shelled spider-like creatures are all over the place.  While there, I was pleasantly interrupted by a half dozen or so deer.  So cool.

Moving on, you'll reach the harbor after first passing several shelters that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  There's a great boat launch here for the biggest of sea vessels and the views (and fishing) from this area, whether on the pier or nearby are simply fantastic.  There's tons of general park amenities - too many to go into detail (trust me, you'll be surprised and impressed).  

The second campground, just past the park ranger station is comprised of a large loop and is basically designed for RV'ers.  Here too, there's solid space, privacy, shrubbery and shade.  There was a very good community vibe here and a couple games of bocce ball being had when we were there.  

Most favorite thing at Blythe Island Regional Park?  The wild rabbits - they're everywhere in this place and so very friendly.  Brink a kayak or canoe, tons of mosquito repellant and sit back to enjoy this most amazing state-run regional park.

Best Kept Out-Of-The-Way Camping Experience

Planning on a quick stop-over on our way to Florida but we stayed another night. Lots of trees and bushes—could barely see the next spot on one side of us. 

Oh yeah, bunnies. There are wild bunnies hanging out around the spot. My girls were in love.

This is a good size park with plenty of camping area yet there is enuff woods around so your not feeling like your stacked in on top of one another. The shower houses are clean and look after every morning. The trails are beautiful and full of wildlife. The is propane firewood and ice available at the office but it’s located so close to other options that would be cheaper as well. My only gripe if I had to have one is there is a 5.00 fishing fee for the lake which seems a bit ridiculous when your already paying for a camp sight especially if your staying multiple days having to pay 5.00 a day is off putting. 

Nice park family friendly 

The camp sites were well separated and it was quite quiet through out our stay. Strange online booking wherein you book online, but that is effectively a request. They confirm but only assign you a site on arrival- you cannot choose it

Our campsite consisted of a hard packed sand "driveway" and a concrete pad next to it. We had a full hookup site including cable supposedly- it did not work so cannot comment on it. Also did not use facilities so no comment. 

Bunnies added entertainment to a walk around the grounds. Funny little buggers, will come to you when you call - probably assuming you will provide food, which they quite happily take a carrot out of your fingers.

Cell: only used my Visible / mofi4500 and it was strong enough for Sling and laptop. About 8m up and 8 meg down


Close to both St Simons and Jekyll Islands. There were plenty of grocery stores nearby including Wally World, target, samsclub and restaurants.

This campground is UNDERrated! So nice! Campsites are more private with foliage in between. Full hookup. There is a freshwater lake to swim/fish. There is a saltwater marina/fishing pier. Pavilions. Playground. Nice bath houses. Very friendly wildlife. Kid friendly. Everyone riding bikes and walking on trails. Dog friendly. Kayak/Jon boat for rent for the lake. Washer/dryer room for fee.  Wi-Fi at campsites and cable.


Awesome!

We love this campground. The sites are large and pretty private with trees and bushes growing between sites. The site we stayed at faced the lake. The lake had a beach for swimming and you could also put in a kayak or small boat there. Fishing was also permitted for a small fee. Additionally there is a dock on the Brunswick river where you can fish and a bait ramp. There is a playground available and domesticated rabbits run free all over the park. The bathhouses are clean and there is a small laundry area. The park is within driving distance of beaches at both Jekyll Island and St Simons and we visited both. It’s a great place to stay when you can’t get into the campground on Jekyll (or just don’t want to be there). 

Blythe Island Beauty

All spaces have full hookups. The spaces are good sized. Pretty quiet. The beach is a man made lake but it’s very nice. Plenty of wildlife around too. Blythe island also has friendly bunnies that roam around. 

Great campground 

This campground exceeded our expectations. The sites are shaded by trees, plenty of space in between each site and has a small concrete pad, picnic table, and fire pit. On the grounds there is saltwater/freshwater fishing, BUNNIES, a swimming lake, bath house, laundry, WiFi, hiking/biking trails, and a gated entrance that is locked after dark. Quick 10-15min drive into town. The cost for 6 nights was only $280. We highly recommend this place!! 

Blythe Campground

Large sites and very peaceful. Has a lake, fishing pier, boat ramp, dry dock and bait shop. Great place for fishing and enjoying nature. 

Beautiful 

I really liked this campground.  Even though the sites are close to each other there is a decent amount of vegetation to give some privacy.  The trails are fun for walking or biking and there is much to do close by.  My big complaint is that the bathrooms were dirty when we arrived and no one cleaned the bathrooms the whole time we were there. The paper towel dispenser was empty or I would have at least wiped the counter and sink.  If you have a bathroom in your camper, this place is fantastic.  If you are like us and rely on the bathrooms provided, you may be disappointed.  I want to come back so please keep us updated on the conditions of the bathroom cleanliness.

Great campground, but…

Really nice campground.  Is quiet, clean and great location.  We spent 4 days here and it’s a short drive to historic downtown Brunswick, St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island.  So much to do.  
Campground has bike and hiking trails, a freshwater lake for fishing and swimming, and a marina for those who may bring a boat to go saltwater fishing.  All campsites are shaded and well equipped.  Will definitely be back!

Blythe Island is great

We booked here for the proximity to Brunswick… we will come back to the Golden Isle but do not plan on coming back to Blythe Island… The morning mosquitos were the worst I have ever experienced!!! An Opossum broke into our closed lid dog food container which an all too domesticated Racoon caught wind of…The bathrooms top the top of the worst ever an I have camped for over 40 years…The bunnies and geese were a treat..,
