Facilities
This site is centered around a classic 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps dining hall that has been historically restored. Tent camping is most common at this facility. RVs and horse trailers are allowed, but limited to specific areas that do not offer hookups. Restrooms with flush toilets and showers are provided, as are hitching posts for horses.

It is the southernmost and oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River and protects the world's largest contiguous sand pine scrub forest. The camping area sits beneath a shady grove of oaks and pines overlooking Doe Lake, and the dining hall sits atop a grassy hill with a view of the water.

The Ocala National Forest is notable for its extensive off-road trail system catering to both ATV enthusiasts and Jeeps, as well as being a traditional destination for deer hunters. These opportunities are available in designated areas throughout the forest.

Great group campsite
Great group campsite. The forest road getting in is very rough and pot holes. But luckily it is a short drive into the camp. They were only a couple of electric hook ups and a few water Spigots around the camp. There is no place to dump but we usually go to big buck lake off of sr 42 And dump on our way home for three dollars. There is a very nice kitchen/mess hall and bathrooms with hot showers. We always seem to get beautiful sunsets over the lake.
Beautiful place
Been here a few times for Hangcon and it is a wonderful place. Facilities are very clean and convenient. Would be a wonderful place to host an event. Perfect place for about 300 hammock campers in January. Doe Lake is beautiful and a perfect place to kayak.
