We arrived at the gate! After hearing of the wilderness preserve we decided to go ahead and get the permit. You drive about a mile down the road from the main state park entrance to find the wilderness preserve entrance which is code protected. After driving back to the parking area, we realized…
This was a very nice swimming and paddle boat park on the Hillsborough River when I was a kid.As a family we visited many times. Now everything is closed down except camping, hiking, canoeing if you bring your own. But still a nice place to camp. Better if not during rainy season here in…

Went with my family for a couple of days. Probably the worst experience we have had camping in sometime. The place is filthy. The bathrooms are horrendousand filthy I don't know who cleans them but they do a poor job. On top of that you've got tons of flies Where the garbage dumpsters are. On top…
First of all, locked gate. You have to make a free reservation to get the combination. I camped at the primitive side. At the fork bare right then immediately turn right. You'll see the Port-a-John. Port-John was clean with TP. But who doesn't carry TP with them. The grass needed to be cut, it was…
The staff was super helpful and very eager to make sure we had a great stay! The grounds are simply amazing! While on a zoom call from a picnic bench by the River a participant said “Looks like you guys are in Hawaii or paradise somewhere”.

If you’re in the Tampa Bay area it’s a great place to camp it’s part of a much larger RV site.
Short hike in to site. Nice open and quiet area. Firewood was available for $5 for 6 pieces.
This was our first time at Peace river Campground and we absolutely loved it. We are already planning the next visit. Our spot 187 was fantastic. Right up front and next to the food trucks. Everyone in the store was so polite. The trails were pretty great too. Solid 10 from us!

There are several trails crossing the river, paved and unpaved bike, walk, run trails, a ginormous swimming pool, a snack shop and equipment rental. It's breath taking and has everything you could want.
We stayed at the tent sites and they are under a nice canopy of trees with water and electric. The staff is awesome, everyone was super friendly, they had clean facilities, the nature trail was awesome to take our dog on walks down. It's located by snook haven so we got to still hear the music and…
This is reclaimed land from an old phosphate mine.
The mine was closed 20 years ago and the land was reclaimed and turned into a beautified park and campground. The trees have had time to mature. There are four lakes, campsites are located on one of the bigger lakes. Like all parks some site are…

Well we didn't like the tent and RV sites. They're in an open area on gravel with no shade and hardly no divisions. There are other areas for special groups that are much nicer. But for individual campers. The equestrian area was the nicest to us. But you must have a horse to stay there.
This is an eco experience with much diversity in flora and fauna. From gators to wild pigs, they have it all. Be careful as this campground is run by the racoons! Store has cool gear and excellent food. Try the Aligator stew! Also wood available for open fires. Lots of rules but worth the visit.
