Paddle board/kayak fisherman haven

You know the old saying” you live and you learn. Well, my buddies and I camped 3 nights in early October.  Boy oh boy , the other reviews were spot on with the no see ums and mosquitos. They were notorious. Mistake #1 picking a campsite, where the mangroves blocked the ocean breeze. #2 going in 80 degree weather. Next time cooler weather and a site more out in the open.  Ok got all the negative stuff out the way. Cool thing about this place is each water front site has its own launch area. The  skinny water fishing is a stone throws away. Lots of bait(mullet). Snook, redfish and trout are in the menu. There’s a new bath house as mentioned in other reviews.  Kept clean for the most, hot water is hot. There’s a kids play ground, and plenty of common area for the kiddos to roam( grassy area bike riding) beach aces is a mile away. There’s a shirt trail right in front of the campground entrance right on A1A.  The bait/convenience shop allows you to park in there parking lot. It would just be common curtesy to purchase something from them.  There’s also Sebastian inlet state park which is 2 miles south on A1A. For $8 a car there’s more beach, and fishing from just about anywhere( the choice of 2 jetties, beach or from the rocks that line the inlet. First state park I’ve been to that is open 24 hrs.  We came back after dinner to enjoy the brisk ocean breeze. The county access beach parks are all free(entrance and parking) unheard of from where I’m from(Miami). Also very well kept.

We stayed only 3 nights, I’ll be back to enjoy the area and unfinished fishing business in the surrounded area waters of the campground.
